This 3.7V 1200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Evolveo EP-600 smartphone. It fits the EP-600 directly and restores power when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge. Capacity is 1200mAh (4.44Wh), matching the stock specification.

  • EP-600 fit: The EP-600 uses a compact 62.18 × 38.14 × 4.50mm cell with a 3.7V nominal rail. This replacement matches that footprint and voltage so the connector seats correctly and the charge IC sees the expected cell parameters.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held charge termination at the correct cutoff voltage and did not trigger premature protection events under steady load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Why the EP-600 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The EP-600's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches the actual chemistry. The gauge reads state-of-charge against old data, so percentages display incorrectly — often jumping or stalling at a fixed value. One full discharge down to automatic power-off, followed by a full uninterrupted charge, forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the replacement cell's actual curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't recalibrated yet and the cell voltage drops sharply under modem or screen load — faster than the uncalibrated gauge predicts. The phone hits the hardware undervoltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a defective cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging, then confirm the cell voltage at shutdown reads at or above 3.4V using a battery monitoring app.

The EP-600 won't power on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Storage below 2.5V per cell triggers BMS lockout, which blocks power-on as a protection measure. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC trickle-charges the locked-out cell back above the recovery threshold, typically 2.9V, after which the BMS resets and the phone boots normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement battery — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell has not yet confirmed compatibility with the phone's fast-charge handshake protocol. The charge IC defaults to standard rate as a precaution. Complete one full charge at the slow rate without interrupting it. On the second cycle, fast charging typically resumes once the BMS has completed its initial communication exchange with the charge controller.

The battery percentage jumps erratically — goes from 60% down to 35% in seconds, then back up.

The coulomb counter is still referencing the old cell's discharge curve and cannot accurately track state-of-charge on the replacement cell. The jumps will continue until the fuel gauge IC recalibrates. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown twice in a row, each time followed by a full uninterrupted charge at standard rate. After the second cycle, percentage reporting stabilises as the gauge locks onto the new cell's actual voltage profile.
