This is a 3.6V 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Bell South MPH6928, MPH6929, MPH6935, and MPH6950 cordless handsets, plus seven additional MPH-series models. It slots into the handset battery compartment and powers both RF transmission and standby. Capacity is rated at 4.32Wh, matching the original specification.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partial state of discharge and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On cycle one, you may see significantly less talk time than expected — this is normal cell behaviour, not a fault. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at the rated 1200mAh.

A NiMH battery stored for several months can drop to a voltage level the base station interprets as a fault rather than a depleted cell. The base's charge controller checks for a minimum acceptance voltage before it starts the charge cycle. If the indicator stays red or unlit, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the charge controller's detection routine. If the error persists, the cell voltage has dropped below recovery threshold; try a trickle charge using a compatible external NiMH charger at 0.1C until the pack reads above 3.0V, then return it to the base.
