Fits Bell South MPH6928, MPH6929, MPH6935, MPH6950 and similar handset models requiring 3.6V Ni-MH packs.
3.6V nominal, 1200mAh capacity delivers full talk time and standby duration on this cordless DECT platform.
Connector slides onto the two-pin charging contacts in the handset battery compartment with side locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in an MPH6928 base station — BMS accepted voltage signature immediately, no fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bell South MPH6928 / MPH6935 / MPH6950 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Bell South MPH6928, MPH6929, MPH6935, and MPH6950 cordless handsets, plus seven additional MPH-series models. It slots into the handset battery compartment and powers both RF transmission and standby. Capacity is rated at 4.32Wh, matching the original specification.

  • MPH-series handset compatibility: These Bell South handsets share a common 3.6V NiMH cell format, the same connector orientation, and a matching BMS handshake threshold — which is why one battery covers the full MPH lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on the MPH6928 platform and confirmed the base station accepted the charge circuit without error. The BMS held voltage above the 3.2V low-cutoff under sustained RF load across multiple discharge cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a short first charge will leave you with noticeably less talk time from cycle one.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partial state of discharge and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On cycle one, you may see significantly less talk time than expected — this is normal cell behaviour, not a fault. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at the rated 1200mAh.

Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting new pack

A NiMH battery stored for several months can drop to a voltage level the base station interprets as a fault rather than a depleted cell. The base's charge controller checks for a minimum acceptance voltage before it starts the charge cycle. If the indicator stays red or unlit, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — this resets the charge controller's detection routine. If the error persists, the cell voltage has dropped below recovery threshold; try a trickle charge using a compatible external NiMH charger at 0.1C until the pack reads above 3.0V, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bell South MPH6928 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did the replacement break something?

No — many DECT cordless phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, and a new battery counts as a full power interruption. The handset needs to re-register with the base. On most MPH-series units, press and hold the page or find button on the base until the handset enters registration mode, then follow the pairing sequence in the user manual. This has nothing to do with the battery itself.

The handset is fully charged but the range seems noticeably shorter than before — what's causing it?

RF transmit power on a cordless handset is drawn directly from the battery. When a NiMH pack hasn't completed its conditioning cycles, voltage sags faster under the load of the radio transmitter — the handset stays on but the signal weakens as voltage drops. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles as described in the listing, and range will recover as the cells reach rated capacity. If range is still short after five cycles, check that the battery contacts in the handset compartment are clean and making firm contact.

The handset battery is draining completely overnight even though it's sitting in the base — is the charger faulty?

This is a standby draw issue, not a charger fault. If the handset isn't fully seated in the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make consistent contact and the battery slowly drains rather than trickle-charging. Lift the handset out, check that nothing is obstructing the contacts on either the handset or the cradle, then press the handset firmly back in until you feel or hear it seat. Confirm the base is drawing power from the wall — the charge indicator light should come on within a few seconds of correct seating.
