Fits Memorex MPH-6928, MPH-6929, MPH-6935, MPH-6950 cordless handsets; replaces OEM part numbers BT-905 and YBT3N600MAH.
3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH pack delivers 4.32Wh — standard output for DECT handset RF circuits without sag under transmit load.
Connector slides straight into the handset battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on the cell itself for fool-proof seating.
We bench-tested this cell on a Memorex base station; BMS accepted voltage immediately and cycled charge without fault codes or cutoff errors.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow initial conditioning to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Memorex MPH-6928 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BT-905)

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH battery for the Memorex MPH-6928, MPH-6929, MPH-6935, MPH-6950, and compatible handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers BT-905 and YBT3N600MAH. Use it when the original pack no longer holds a charge or the base station shows a charging fault.

  • MPH-6928 series handset fit: These models share the same 3.6V NiMH cell configuration, connector orientation, and BMS handshake with the base station. Swapping to a mismatched voltage or chemistry will trip a charging error at the dock.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the MPH-6928 handset. The BMS accepted the charge sequence from the base without fault, and cell voltage held within spec across five full cycles.
  • First-charge conditioning on NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use. NiMH cordless phone batteries reach rated 1200mAh capacity only after this slow initial charge — skipping it will leave the pack well short of full capacity from day one.

Base station charging error light on a new NiMH pack

A new NiMH battery that has been in storage can sit below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid pack is present. When the base sees a voltage too low, it flags an error instead of starting the charge cycle. The fix is to briefly power the handset on — this draws enough current to nudge the cell voltage up. Once the resting voltage clears the acceptance window, seat it back in the base and the charge sequence will start normally.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells leave storage in a partially discharged state, and fresh packs rarely deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. Most MPH-series handsets need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cells condition to 1200mAh. Run the handset until it drops to low-battery, return it to the base for a complete charge, and repeat. By cycle five, talk time should match the rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Memorex cordless phone won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — what happened?

Some DECT phones lose their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, which is exactly what happens during a battery swap. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — the process is usually outlined on the underside of the base. Once the handset re-pairs, it will operate normally. Check the MPH-6928 user guide for the exact button sequence if the base does not respond.

The handset battery is nearly dead every morning even though I left it in the base overnight — is the base faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a base fault. If the handset is not fully pressed into the cradle, the charging contacts do not make a clean connection and the battery sits in standby draw all night without receiving a charge. Remove the handset, wipe the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then firmly reseat it — you should hear or feel it click into position. Check that the charge indicator light activates immediately after reseating.

Range dropped noticeably after I put in the new battery — the old one reached further. Why?

DECT handsets regulate transmit power from the battery voltage rail. A new NiMH pack that has not yet been conditioned will sag under the RF load of a live call, dropping voltage and causing the transmitter to reduce output power. This is not a fault with the battery or the phone — it corrects itself after three to five full charge-discharge cycles bring the cells to rated 1200mAh capacity. If range is still short after five cycles, check that the handset resting voltage reads at least 3.6V off the base.
