Fits BELL-TEC MINI siren model 1504-005 and part numbers 829-2060002D-00.
6V, 250mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 1.5Wh total energy for backup siren operation during main power loss.
Connector seats straight into the MINI housing without mechanical rotation; locking tab on the left side holds position under spring tension.
We bench-tested the cell on a simulated alarm panel load — BMS accepted float charge within 18 hours, no fault codes on startup.
Do not run a siren test within 24 hours of installation; the panel's low-battery detection circuit needs full float charge before reporting accurate state.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BELL-TEC MINI Siren — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (1504-005)

This is a 6V, 250mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the BELL-TEC MINI siren (Part No. 1504-005 / 829-2060002D-00). It fits the compact BELL-TEC MINI audible alarm unit used in residential and commercial intruder alarm systems. Dimensions are 34.00 x 27.40 x 25.60mm — measure your existing cell before ordering if you are unsure.

  • BELL-TEC MINI siren fit: The MINI siren uses a sealed Ni-MH cell at 6V to power the alert transducer during mains failure. The connector and BMS interface are fixed to this voltage rail — substituting a different chemistry or voltage will cause panel rejection or siren failure.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, float, and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge without fault codes, held float voltage within the expected 6.0–6.4V window, and triggered the siren transducer cleanly on simulated mains loss.
  • Float charge conditioning before first test: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. A new Ni-MH cell installed cold will often read below the panel's low-battery threshold, triggering a false fault during any diagnostic triggered before full charge is accepted.

Why the alarm panel still shows low battery after fitting a new cell

Ni-MH cells ship at a partial state of charge — typically 30–50% of rated capacity. The alarm panel monitors float voltage continuously, and a partially charged cell sits below the panel's acceptance threshold. The panel does not update its battery status instantly; it samples voltage over a rolling window, sometimes 12–24 hours long. Until the cell reaches full float charge, the low-battery indicator will remain active even though the replacement is correctly fitted.

Siren not sounding during test after battery swap

Some BELL-TEC MINI siren panels impose a 30–60 second charge-stabilisation delay after a new backup cell is detected before permitting the siren output to activate. If a walk-test is triggered in this window, the siren may not sound even though the panel logs the event. This is a BMS handshake behaviour, not a wiring fault. Wait at least 60 seconds after power-up with the new cell seated, then re-run the test.

Frequently Asked Questions

My alarm panel is showing a low battery warning straight after I put in the new BELL-TEC MINI siren battery — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. Ni-MH batteries ship partially charged, and the panel continuously monitors float voltage — a fresh cell will read below the acceptance threshold until it has charged fully. Leave the system powered with the new cell seated for 24–48 hours. After that period, the panel should clear the low-battery fault automatically once float voltage stabilises above 6.0V.

The siren didn't go off when I tested the alarm after replacing the backup battery — what's wrong?

This is a charge-stabilisation delay, not a wiring fault. The panel holds the siren output inactive for 30–60 seconds after detecting a new cell, allowing the BMS handshake to complete. Trigger your test too soon and the siren will stay silent even though the system logs the event correctly. Power-cycle the panel, wait at least 60 seconds with the new cell seated, then run the test again.

My alarm lost all its programmed zones during a power cut even though I'd just replaced the BELL-TEC MINI siren battery — why?

A newly installed Ni-MH cell needs 48 hours on float charge before it holds enough capacity to sustain panel memory through a mains outage. If the power cut happened within that conditioning window, the cell couldn't deliver sufficient current to keep the panel's RAM alive. Restore your zone programming, keep the system on mains power for a full 48 hours, then test by briefly disconnecting mains — the panel should retain all settings at that point.
