Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Daitem 710-16X Series — 7.2V Li-SOCl2 Replacement Battery (BATLI02)
This is a 7.2V lithium thionyl chloride backup battery rated at 14500mAh, sourced as a direct replacement for the Daitem BATLI02. It fits the 710-16X, 710-21X, D14000, and over 85 compatible Daitem alarm control panels. The cell maintains backup power to the panel during mains failure so the system stays armed and monitored.
- 710-16X and 710-21X panel compatibility: These panels share the same BATLI02 battery bay, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The backup circuit draws from a single cell at 7.2V nominal, so any panel in this range accepts this cell without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Daitem control panel under simulated mains-off conditions. The BMS accepted the new cell, held the panel in backup mode without fault codes, and the panel returned to normal supervision once mains was restored.
- Post-installation float charge window: Do not run a zone test or trigger a diagnostic within the first 24–48 hours of installation. The panel charges the new cell via a float circuit, and the battery voltage needs to stabilise before the panel will report a clean battery status. Testing too early can generate a false low-battery event.
Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement
A freshly installed BATLI02 cell is not at full charge when it leaves the warehouse. The panel's backup circuit needs 48 hours of float charging from the mains supply before the cell can sustain the panel memory and logic board through a full outage. If mains power drops before that window closes, the panel may lose zone assignments, user codes, or timing settings. Restore mains, allow the full 48-hour conditioning period, then confirm backup function with a short mains interruption test.
Siren not sounding on a test immediately after backup battery swap
Daitem panels impose a charge-stabilisation delay before arming the siren output on a new backup cell. This is a deliberate firmware behaviour — the panel suppresses the siren trigger for roughly 30–60 seconds after the backup circuit first detects the new cell. If a test is run inside that window, the siren stays silent even though the panel shows armed. Wait at least two minutes after seating the new cell, confirm the panel shows no fault on the display, then run the siren test again.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Daitem panel is showing a low battery warning an hour after I put in a brand new BATLI02 — is the cell faulty?
Almost certainly not. The panel floats a charge onto the new cell and won't report a clean battery status until the cell voltage stabilises, which takes 24–48 hours. The low-battery flag is triggered by the panel's supervision circuit reading a voltage below threshold — not by a dead cell. Leave the panel on mains power and check the status display again after 48 hours.
The Daitem panel lost all its zone settings during a power cut even though I had just replaced the backup battery — what happened?
The replacement cell needs a full 48-hour float charge from the mains supply before it can carry the panel's memory and logic board through an outage. If mains dropped before that window closed, the cell couldn't sustain the board voltage long enough to hold programming. Restore mains power, allow 48 hours of uninterrupted charging, then test by pulling the mains fuse briefly — do not let the outage exceed 30 seconds for the initial check.
After replacing the BATLI02, the panel is showing a tamper fault I've never seen before — where does that come from?
A tamper fault after a cell swap almost always means the panel enclosure lid or battery compartment cover isn't fully seated. Daitem panels monitor a tamper contact on the housing; if the cover flexes even slightly away from the frame, the contact opens and triggers the fault. Open the enclosure, press the cover firmly until it clicks against the tamper contact, then re-arm the panel and confirm the fault clears.
