Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bionet BM3 Pro Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (36L335-BIO-S)
This 10.8V 3350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Bionet BM3 Pro, BM3Vet Elite, BM5Vet Elite, and Elite 3 portable patient monitors. These monitors share a common battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol across the listed models. Capacity is 3350mAh (36.18Wh) — matching the OEM specification.
- BM3 Pro and BM3Vet Elite cross-compatibility: Both models run the same 10.8V three-cell Li-ion architecture with an identical BMS handshake. The battery bay dimensions and connector locking tab are shared, so one pack covers both clinical and veterinary variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the BM3 Pro's startup self-test and parameter monitoring load. The BMS held voltage within spec across heart rate, SpO2, and NIBP measurement cycles with no mid-sequence cutoff.
- BMS initialisation on first installation: After fitting this battery, allow the BM3 Pro to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Interrupting the boot sequence before the BMS verification step finishes triggers a latching battery fault — it will not clear until the device is fully powered down and rebooted from scratch.
BM3 Pro not completing boot sequence on a new battery
The BM3 Pro runs a BMS learn cycle during its first few charge-discharge passes on a new cell. Until that cycle completes, the charge IC applies a conservative current limit and the device firmware may read state-of-charge as indeterminate. This can stall the boot sequence at the self-test screen. Run one full charge to termination, then a full discharge under normal monitoring load, then recharge before placing the unit back in clinical rotation. After that cycle, the BMS reports state-of-charge accurately and boot completes normally.
Charge indicator stalls below 100% on first charge
On the first charge, the BM3 Pro's charge IC applies a reduced current ceiling to a new cell — this is normal behaviour, not a fault with the battery or charger. The indicator may sit at 95–98% for an extended period before the charge IC declares the cycle complete. Do not interrupt charging at this point. Let the cycle run to automatic termination; the charge IC will switch to trickle mode and the indicator will reach 100% once the cell voltage stabilises at 12.6V across all three cells.

Frequently Asked Questions
The BM3 Pro shows a low battery alarm straight after I charged the new pack overnight — is the battery faulty?
It is not faulty. The BM3 Pro's BMS compares cell voltage against a threshold calibrated to the OEM chemistry profile, and a new cell that hasn't completed its first full cycle can read below that threshold even at full charge. Run one complete charge-to-termination followed by a full discharge under normal monitoring use, then recharge fully. After that conditioning cycle, the BMS reads state-of-charge correctly and the alarm clears.
The monitor won't power on at all after the battery sat unused in a drawer for several months — what's happening?
Extended storage causes self-discharge, and if cell voltage drops below roughly 9V the BM3 Pro's BMS enters deep-discharge lockout to protect the cells from irreversible damage. Connect the battery to the monitor on AC mains power and leave it for a minimum of two hours without attempting to power on — the charge IC will trickle-charge the cells back above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage climbs above approximately 10V, normal charging resumes and the device will power on.
The BM3 Pro shuts off unexpectedly mid-monitoring session in the first week of use — the battery shows as fully charged before each session.
New Li-ion cells have slightly higher internal resistance before the first 8–10 cycles, and the BM3 Pro's NIBP inflation cycle draws a short high-current pulse that can cause a momentary voltage sag on a fresh cell. The BMS interprets that sag as a low-cell-voltage fault and cuts output to protect the pack. This resolves after the cells are conditioned through several full charge-discharge cycles. Until then, keep the unit on AC power during NIBP measurements and run the conditioning cycles before relying solely on battery power for mobile use.
