The 63500 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several weeks — what happened?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. After several weeks in storage, the cell voltage drops below the 63500's BMS recovery threshold, and the device refuses to boot. Connect the charger and leave it for a full charge cycle — most BMS units on this platform will accept a recovery charge from as low as 9V. If the charger light doesn't activate within 10 minutes, disconnect and reconnect to trigger the charge IC reset.

The device is shutting off unexpectedly during suctioning in the first few uses — does it need to be broken in?
