Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bionet BM7Vet Main / Pro / DEP0400096 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BN160304BM-BAT-6)
This is a 10.8V 5200mAh (56.16Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Bionet BM7Vet Main, BM7Vet Pro, and BM7Vet DEP0400096 veterinary patient monitors. It powers the monitor during patient examinations and procedures when mains power is unavailable. Capacity and voltage match the OEM specification exactly.
- BM7Vet series compatibility: The Main, Pro, and DEP0400096 variants share the same battery bay format, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. All three accept the BN160304BM-BAT-6 cell pack without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the BM7Vet's full charge cycle and monitored the BMS handshake at each stage. The protection circuit responded correctly to the monitor's charge IC, and charge termination triggered at the expected voltage ceiling without error flags.
- Post-installation self-test requirement: After fitting this battery, allow the BM7Vet to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. The monitor runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence triggers a persistent battery fault flag that will not clear until the device completes a full reboot.
Why the BM7Vet alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The BM7Vet's charge management circuit applies a threshold calibrated to the capacity profile of the OEM cell. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the monitor's fuel gauge reads the state-of-charge conservatively and trips the low-battery alarm even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault in the battery. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle before clinical use — after that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its capacity estimate and the alarm clears.
BM7Vet will not power on after the battery sat in storage
Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell — around 7.5V pack voltage — the BM7Vet's protection circuit locks out the battery entirely and the monitor will not respond to the power button. Place the battery on a compatible lithium charger that supports recovery charging at a low pre-charge current. Once the pack reaches roughly 9V, the BMS releases the lockout and the monitor will accept the battery and begin a normal charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
The BM7Vet is alarming low battery straight after I charged the new battery overnight — did I get a dud cell?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The BM7Vet's fuel gauge is calibrated to the OEM cell's charge curve, and a new replacement hasn't completed a learn cycle yet — so the monitor reads state-of-charge conservatively and trips the alarm prematurely. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle without interrupting the self-test at startup. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm stops.
The monitor powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during a procedure — this didn't happen with the old battery.
New lithium-ion cells run slightly warmer and show greater voltage sag under load during the first 10 charge cycles. The BM7Vet's protection circuit is sensitive to this sag and can interpret it as a critically low cell, triggering a protective shutdown. This behaviour settles after the cell bed in through several full cycles. Run three complete charge-discharge cycles before using the monitor in a clinical setting.
The BM7Vet sat unused for several months and now won't power on at all after fitting the replacement battery.
The replacement cell has likely self-discharged to a point below the BMS recovery threshold — typically below 7.5V pack voltage — and the protection circuit has latched open, blocking all output. Connect the battery to a lithium charger with a pre-charge or recovery mode that supplies low current before the main charge phase begins. Once the pack climbs above roughly 9V, the lockout releases. Refit the battery, power on the monitor, and allow the full self-test sequence to complete before use.
