This is a 12V, 1300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Bissell 13132 and Bolt Pet cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces OEM part 4/5SC-10 and fits the original battery housing without modification. When the original cells degrade and suction weakens before the indicator drops, this is the correct replacement.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

Ni-MH cells lose voltage under load faster than the indicator circuit can track. The indicator reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage, so the light stays green while the motor is already voltage-starved. A partially blocked filter makes this worse — the motor works harder, draws more current, and the pack sags below the motor controller's threshold sooner. If the vacuum loses pull mid-use but recovers after a short rest, the cells are the cause, not the motor.

Motor cuts out briefly then restarts during use

This cutout-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. It happens when restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to sustain high current draw long enough to trip the protection circuit. The BMS resets after a few seconds, which is why the vacuum restarts on its own. Clear the filter first. If cutouts continue with a clean filter on a fresh charge, the original cells have degraded below 10.8V under load and replacement is needed.
