Fits Bissell PowerLifter Adapt IonVacuum P2922-10A and compatible Adapt models; replaces OEM part 1627640 and 1627238.
10.8V and 2600mAh capacity deliver stable motor voltage across carpet and hard floor cycles without mid-run sag.
Connector slides into the side-mount battery slot with a single locking tab that seats flush against the motor housing.
We bench-tested this pack through five full discharge cycles on the P2922-10A motor load; the BMS held steady voltage delivery until final 8% before cutoff triggered.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock when fully charged — continuous trickle charging causes capacity fade within weeks; charge to full and remove immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bissell PowerLifter Adapt IonVacuum P2922-10A / 3061+ / 3190+ / 3191+ — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1627640)

This is a 10.8V, 2600mAh lithium-ion battery pack for the Bissell PowerLifter Adapt IonVacuum cordless upright range. It replaces OEM part numbers 1627640 and 1627238. The pack fits the P2922-10A, 3061+, 3190+, and 3191+ models, restoring full motor power to the cleaning head and brush roll.

  • P2922-10A and 3000-series compatibility: These models share a common 10.8V power rail, identical battery bay dimensions, and the same BMS handshake protocol. One battery pack serves all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge-discharge cycles on a P2922-10A unit. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly under simulated motor load, and the charger accepted the pack on first connection without any handshake error.
  • Dock charging habit for this vacuum: Do not leave the PowerLifter Adapt sitting on the charging dock between uses. This model has no charge-termination relay in the dock itself — the BMS handles cutoff, but trickle current continues. Charge to full, then remove the pack or vacuum from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the PowerLifter Adapt

The PowerLifter Adapt's motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter can push draw well above rated amps. The BMS reads this as a low-cell condition and begins throttling motor voltage before the indicator LED steps down. The vacuum feels like it's losing charge when the actual fault is airflow restriction forcing an overcurrent response. Clean or replace the filter first, then recheck battery behaviour.

Motor cuts out mid-clean, then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip — not a failed battery. When the brush roll snags on carpet pile or debris, current spikes sharply and the BMS opens the discharge circuit to protect the cells. The pack resets itself after the overcurrent condition clears, which is why power returns without any intervention. If trips happen frequently on normal carpet, check the brush roll for wrapped hair or debris restricting rotation. Keeping the brush roll clear keeps peak current below the BMS trip threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bissell PowerLifter Adapt has strong suction at the start of a clean but drops off well before the battery light changes — why?

This is motor voltage sag under load, not a flat battery. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to pull more current than rated, and the BMS throttles output voltage to protect the cells — suction drops even though charge level looks fine. Remove and clean the foam and felt filters, then retest. If suction stays consistent after that, the battery is not the cause.

The vacuum cuts out completely mid-clean, then powers back on a minute later with no button press — what's happening?

The BMS is tripping on an overcurrent spike and resetting once the fault clears. This usually happens when the brush roll is partially jammed — hair wrap or debris forces the motor to surge, current spikes, and the BMS opens the discharge circuit. Check the brush roll, remove any wrap, and clear the suction path. If the brush roll is clean and trips still happen, check that the replacement pack's BMS trip threshold matches by confirming the OEM part number 1627640 or 1627238.

I left my PowerLifter Adapt on the charging dock for weeks and now it barely holds a charge — did I damage the battery?

Continuous dock charging causes capacity fade on this vacuum because the dock does not cut trickle current once the pack is full — the BMS handles cutoff, but low-level current continues to flow through the cells. Over weeks, this degrades cell capacity measurably. With a new replacement pack, charge to full, then lift the vacuum off the dock — store it off-charge until the next use. That single habit preserves cell capacity significantly longer than permanent dock parking.
