BlackView Tab 9 10.1-Inch — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 3.8V Li-Polymer battery rated at 7400mAh (28.12Wh) for the BlackView Tab 9 and Tab 9 10.1-Inch Android tablet. It replaces the original cell when capacity has dropped and the tablet no longer holds a charge through a normal day of use. Voltage and connector specs match the original battery bay on this model.

  • Tab 9 and Tab 9 10.1-Inch fit: Both listed models share the same cell format, voltage rail, and BMS handshake requirements. The same 3.8V Li-Polymer cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Tab 9 unit. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, charge IC engaged without fault codes, and voltage held steady across display-on and WiFi-active load conditions.
  • Post-swap fuel gauge reset: After installing this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The Tab 9's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance profile — one complete cycle resets it against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage reading that appears immediately after a swap.

Tab 9 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

This happens when the display and WiFi radio draw current simultaneously, pulling the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the reported percentage reaches zero. An aged original cell shows this earlier because its internal resistance amplifies voltage sag under combined load. A new cell with lower internal resistance reduces the sag, but the fuel gauge still needs recalibration to map the shutoff point accurately. Run one full cycle after installation and the shutdowns at false percentages will stop.

Fast charging not available after battery swap on the Tab 9

The Tab 9 charge IC negotiates the fast charge protocol on the first accepted charge cycle after a new cell is fitted. If fast charge shows as unavailable immediately after installation, that is expected — the handshake has not completed yet. Plug in with the original charger and let the first charge run to 100% without interruption. Fast charge availability restores once the charge IC has logged one complete accepted cycle against the new cell.

My BlackView Tab 9 is showing the wrong battery percentage after I swapped the battery — it jumped from 40% to dead with no warning.

The fuel gauge IC on the Tab 9 stores calibration data tied to the internal resistance profile of the original cell. When a new cell is fitted, that stored data no longer maps accurately to the new cell's voltage curve. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% with the screen off where possible. That single full cycle re-anchors the fuel gauge to the new cell and the percentage reading stabilises.

My Tab 9 keeps shutting itself off at around 20% after the battery replacement — did I get a faulty cell?

This is a voltage sag issue, not a faulty cell. When the display and WiFi draw current at the same time, cell voltage dips sharply — and if the fuel gauge is still calibrated to the old cell's resistance profile, the BMS trips the shutoff before the reported percentage hits zero. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that calibration cycle, the BMS cutoff point aligns with what the screen reports and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working on my Tab 9 after I put in the new battery — the charger still works but it's only slow charging now.

The Tab 9's charge IC re-negotiates the fast charge protocol after a new cell is installed, and it requires one complete accepted charge cycle before it confirms the new cell is compatible and unlocks higher current delivery. Use the original BlackView charger and cable — third-party cables can drop the negotiation. Let the first charge run from low to 100% without unplugging. Fast charge resumes on the next charge session once that initial cycle is logged.
