Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Blaupunkt CC-R900H / ERC884 / F9 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 7.4V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Blaupunkt CC-R900H, ERC884, and F9 compact digital cameras. Capacity is 2000mAh (14.8Wh), matching the stock cell specification. It fits the same battery compartment and connects via the original contacts.

  • CC-R900H, ERC884, and F9 compatibility: These three Blaupunkt camera models share the same battery compartment dimensions, contact layout, and 7.4V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers all three without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on camera-class test equipment. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly at both ends, and the cell reached rated capacity within two full cycles.
  • First-cycle charge in the camera body: Insert the new cell and charge it through the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. Some compact camera BMS systems need one in-body charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining display accurately — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read incorrectly from the first session.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new cell

Flash capacitor recharge draws a short, high-current spike after each shot. If the cell's internal resistance is elevated — common in cells that haven't completed a full break-in cycle — voltage sags briefly during that recharge pulse. The camera interprets the sag as low charge and may throttle flash output or extend recycle time. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before a shoot involving heavy flash use, and confirm resting voltage sits above 8.0V before starting.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the CC-R900H display

The CC-R900H maps its battery indicator to voltage thresholds calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell discharges along a slightly different curve, so the indicator can jump from 80% to 40% without warning — or stay at one bar longer than expected. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty cell. Perform two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body and the display will track more closely to actual charge level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CC-R900H shows a dead battery icon the moment I insert the new cell — is the cell faulty?

It's almost never the cell. The CC-R900H BMS runs an authentication check on insertion, and a cell at partial charge from storage can fall below the camera's acceptance threshold. Place the cell in the OEM charger or charge it via the camera body until the indicator shows full, then power cycle the camera. If the icon clears after that first full charge, the cell is working correctly.

Shot count seems much lower than I expected — the camera dies well before I'd expect it to.

Flash, continuous autofocus, optical stabilisation, and the LCD backlight all draw current beyond the baseline figure used to calculate rated shot counts. If you're shooting with flash enabled and continuous AF active, real-world shot count can drop significantly compared to the CIPA standard. To isolate the issue, shoot a test session with flash off and AF set to single-shot — if shot count improves substantially, the draw is coming from those subsystems, not the cell. Confirm resting voltage reads above 8.0V before the session.

The camera body gets noticeably warm during extended video recording — is that the battery or the camera?

During sustained video, the image sensor, processor, and stabilisation system all run simultaneously, placing a continuous current draw on the cell well above what still photography requires. That combined load generates heat in both the cell and the camera body — this is normal for compact cameras running video. If the body becomes hot to the touch and the camera shuts down mid-clip, check that the cell's resting voltage is above 7.8V before recording and avoid recording in direct sunlight where ambient heat adds to the thermal load.
