This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion cell replacement for the BLU Spark and Spark S130 smartphones. It fits directly in place of OEM parts C49390590T and C49390590L. If your original cell has lost capacity or no longer holds a charge, this brings the phone back to working condition without replacing the handset.

  • Spark and Spark S130 fitment: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a BLU Spark unit. The BMS accepted the cell without rejection flags, and the charge IC completed a full cycle without thermal cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge down to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one full reference cycle against the new cell's discharge curve before the OS starts reporting percentages you can trust.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell

The BLU Spark's fuel gauge IC holds a charge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile. Under modem or screen load, the phone draws current the gauge didn't predict, voltage sags faster than the IC expects, and the BMS trips a low-voltage cutoff — even though the reported percentage shows charge remaining. One full reference cycle corrects the curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or sat unused long enough to drop below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters a protective lockout and the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell up through the lockout threshold. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V, the BMS re-initialises and the phone will power on normally.

The BLU Spark shows 25% battery and just shuts off with no warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell itself is not the problem. The fuel gauge IC on the Spark was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misjudges how quickly voltage drops under modem or display load on the new cell. When voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold, the phone cuts power even though the percentage reading still showed charge. Run one full discharge to auto-off followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — that gives the IC a clean reference cycle and the premature shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my BLU Spark jumps around erratically after putting in the replacement — 60% one minute, 45% the next.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. It's using a discharge model built for the old cell and applying it to a new cell with a different internal resistance. The coulomb counter hasn't yet collected enough data to track the new curve accurately. One complete discharge-to-auto-off followed by a full uninterrupted charge gives the IC a solid reference point. Erratic percentage readings almost always settle after that first full cycle.

My BLU Spark feels warm near the battery area during the first charge on the new cell — is that normal?

A new cell typically has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes current into higher resistance, which generates more heat at the cell surface during the first few charge cycles. This is expected and usually settles by the second or third cycle. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably or the charging stops prematurely, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before resuming — the charge IC will restart the cycle from the point it left off.
