Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Tank 2.4 Torch / T550 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (C814670300L)
This is a 3.8V, 2800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the BLU Tank 2.4 Torch and T550. It fits the original battery bay using the same connector and cell dimensions as the factory unit. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- Tank 2.4 Torch and T550 fitment: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, so one cell covers the full Tank 2.4 Torch line. The 80.50 × 46.04 × 7.00mm form factor seats flush without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Tank 2.4 Torch platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake on the first cycle, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold without nuisance shutdowns.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge down to automatic shutoff before charging back to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a complete reference curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins. Skipping this step is the main cause of erratic percentage readings in the first week.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Tank 2.4 Torch after a cell swap
The Tank 2.4 Torch runs an active modem and a bright torch LED simultaneously, both of which spike current draw hard and fast. If the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, it reads the state of charge too optimistically. When the new cell hits its actual voltage floor under that combined load, the BMS cuts power before the OS has a chance to initiate a graceful shutdown. One full slow-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and maps the new cell's real discharge profile. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.
Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if this battery dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS will have locked out to prevent damage. The phone will show no response — no charging animation, no boot attempt. Connect to a wall adapter rated at 5V and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until the BMS re-initialises and releases the lockout. Once the charging animation appears, proceed with a normal full charge before powering on.

Frequently Asked Questions
The BLU Tank 2.4 Torch battery percentage keeps jumping around after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the Tank 2.4 Torch is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded battery, so it misreads the new cell's state of charge and the percentage jumps erratically. Run one complete cycle — discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the coulomb counter will recalibrate against the actual capacity of the new cell. Erratic readings almost always settle after that single full cycle.
My Tank 2.4 Torch gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the replacement — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first few charges is normal with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh li-ion cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage to overcome that resistance, generating a small amount of extra heat. Keep the phone out of its case for the first two or three charges so heat can dissipate freely. If the back becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, disconnect the charger and let the phone cool to room temperature before resuming.
Fast charging stopped working on my BLU Tank 2.4 Torch after I swapped the battery — it only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new battery may not immediately negotiate the fast-charge handshake with the phone's charge IC. This is a one-cycle behaviour — the BMS needs to complete one full charge before it confirms the cell parameters and opens the high-current charge path. Charge the phone fully using the standard adapter without interrupting the session. Fast charging should resume normally from the second charge cycle onward.
