Fits Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, replaces OEM part A2466.
3.83V, 3650mAh cell restores full charge capacity after battery degradation from normal smartphone use.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with adhesive strips; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested against a worn OEM cell — fuel gauge IC accepted the new BMS handshake on insertion with zero contact faults.
On first charge after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard speed before enabling fast charging to let the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max — 3.83V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (A2466)

This 3.83V, 3650mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original A2466 battery in the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max. It fits the full-size 12 Pro Max only — not the standard 12 Pro or 12. Swap it when your device no longer holds adequate charge through a normal day of use.

  • iPhone 12 Pro Max cell fitment: The 12 Pro Max uses a physically larger cell than the 12 Pro — different footprint, different connector orientation. This cell matches that specific chassis cavity at 89.30 × 67.36 × 4.50mm and connects to the same BMS handshake the fuel gauge IC expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the fuel gauge IC initialised correctly after one full discharge-charge cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the coulomb counter a clean baseline against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins.

Why the iPhone 12 Pro Max reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The iPhone's fuel gauge IC uses a learned discharge curve built from hundreds of cycles on the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour. The IC reads voltage and estimates state-of-charge from a map that doesn't fit the new chemistry profile. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and rebuilds an accurate curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after replacement

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during 5G modem bursts or sustained screen-on use — before the reported percentage hits zero. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped where the new cell's voltage cliff sits. The phone shuts down to protect the SoC, not because the cell is faulty. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles and confirm the cell rests at approximately 3.83V open-circuit before the third cycle begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically after I installed the new cell — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old battery's discharge curve and is misreading state-of-charge on the new one. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets and percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery — it only trickle-charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell replacement, the iPhone's charge IC defaults to a lower current rate while it validates the new cell's impedance profile. This is normal BMS behaviour, not a fault. Charge the phone fully at least once on the standard cable, then reconnect with your USB-PD adapter — fast charging typically resumes on the second or third cycle once the charge IC has logged acceptable impedance readings.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation.

If the cell self-discharged below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state and refuses to supply current to the board. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone will boot normally.
