Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BOSC BA-610 / BA-611 Fujifilm FinePix Series — 6V 2100mAh Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Fujifilm cameras using the BA-610 and BA-611 cell designations, including the FinePix C-51, C-61, and compatible models. It replaces degraded or failed original cells and restores full camera operation. Capacity figures are drawn from the product specification — 12.6Wh total energy.
- BA-610 / BA-611 platform coverage: These model designations share a common 6V Ni-MH cell format, connector pinout, and physical envelope across the FinePix compact range. The BMS in each body reads cell voltage against the same charge curve, so one cell fits the full group without wiring or housing modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a FinePix body, monitoring BMS handshake and cell acceptance at each stage. The protection circuit held voltage within the expected Ni-MH discharge window throughout, and the camera body reported battery status without error flags.
- First-cycle charge protocol for FinePix bodies: Run the first full charge through the OEM charger or the camera body itself before shooting. Some FinePix BMS firmware only maps the battery-remaining indicator correctly after it has observed one complete charge cycle from within the accepted charge path.
Flash recycling slowing down mid-shoot on a fresh BA-610 cell
The built-in flash on FinePix compacts pulls a surge of current each time the capacitor recharges between shots. A Ni-MH cell that hasn't completed its first conditioning cycle has not yet reached full capacity, so internal resistance is higher than rated. That extra resistance causes voltage to sag under the capacitor recharge load, and the flash takes noticeably longer to ready itself. Run two full charge-discharge cycles before heavy flash use and the recycling speed normalises.
Battery percentage jumping or reading incorrectly after fitting a new cell
Fujifilm FinePix bodies map the battery indicator to voltage thresholds calibrated against the discharge curve of the original cell. A new Ni-MH replacement has a slightly different voltage slope until it has been conditioned, so the body misreads its state of charge and the percentage display jumps or drops suddenly. This is not a fault with the cell — it corrects itself after one or two complete charge-discharge cycles. Charge the cell fully in the camera body before the first use to give the BMS an accurate baseline, targeting a full charge at 1.4V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My FinePix camera shows a dead battery icon immediately after fitting the new BA-610 cell — is the cell faulty?
This is a BMS authentication check, not a dead cell. The FinePix body expects to observe the cell during at least one charge event before it clears the low-battery flag on a replacement Ni-MH. Place the cell in the OEM charger or in the camera body and run a full charge from flat. After that first full charge cycle, the icon clears and the camera reads the cell correctly.
Shot count with the new BA-610 battery is lower than the original — what's drawing it down faster?
Flash, continuous autofocus, optical stabilisation, and the rear LCD each add draw that falls outside the baseline shot-count spec. On FinePix compacts, running the flash on every frame and using the LCD at full brightness combined can double the current draw versus the rated test conditions. Disable the flash where lighting allows, and reduce LCD brightness in the camera menu — that single adjustment noticeably extends the number of frames per charge.
The BA-610 replacement drains much faster in cold weather than it did indoors — is that normal for this cell?
Ni-MH chemistry is sensitive to temperature drop. At or below 10°C, internal resistance rises and the cell delivers less of its rated 2100mAh before the body triggers a low-voltage cutoff. The capacity returns when the cell warms back up — this is not permanent degradation. Keep a spare cell in an inside jacket pocket while shooting outdoors, and swap them alternately to maintain warmth and usable capacity in both.
