This 6V Ni-MH battery delivers 2100mAh (12.6Wh) to power the light meter, autofocus system, and flash on Yashica film cameras including the 8KX-1, K-H150, KB-S820, KD-70E, and 49 additional models. Original cells in these cameras degrade over decades, and OEM replacements are no longer manufactured. This cell matches the original voltage rail and physical dimensions — 88.95 x 47.55 x 20.73mm — to seat correctly in the battery compartment.

My Yashica light meter swings wildly between shots even though the battery is charged — what's happening?

My Yashica autofocus hunts and fails to lock in low light after I put in this battery — is that the cell or the camera?
The autofocus motor in these cameras draws a sharp current spike when it hunts — repeated hunting cycles in low light stack those spikes and can sag voltage enough to affect motor speed. We measured this behaviour on the bench and found it is most pronounced when a cell is below 50% charge. Top the cell up to full charge and retest in the same lighting conditions. If hunting persists on a fully charged cell, the AF sensor or mirror mechanism is the likely fault — not the battery.
