Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Loewe H801 / H811 / PROF180 Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 6V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Loewe H801, H811, PROF180, PROF185, and compatible models. It restores power to the camera body for image capture and full operation. Dimensions are 88.95 × 47.55 × 20.73mm — verify your original cell matches before ordering.
- H801 / H811 / PROF-series compatibility: These models share the same battery bay geometry, 6V supply rail, and connector orientation. The BMS in each body draws from the same voltage threshold range, so one cell spec covers the group without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the camera's BMS and confirmed stable voltage delivery across the full discharge curve. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags and held the charge-remaining signal steady through discharge.
- First-cycle initialisation on camera bodies: Run the first full charge cycle through the camera body itself, not a third-party charger. Some Loewe bodies need to see a managed charge from within the camera to map the new cell's discharge curve accurately — skipping this can cause the battery indicator to read incorrectly from the first shot.
Camera showing dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
Ni-MH cells have a flatter discharge curve than lithium chemistries. The Loewe body's indicator thresholds were calibrated around that curve, but a new cell fresh out of packaging may sit at a resting voltage the BMS reads as low. The fix is a full charge cycle completed inside the camera body — this lets the BMS log the cell's actual voltage floor and ceiling. After one full cycle, the indicator should track accurately.
Battery percentage jumping erratically during a shoot
This happens when the camera body maps its indicator against a discharge curve it has not yet calibrated to the new cell. The BMS samples voltage at intervals and translates that to a percentage — if the reference points are off, the display jumps. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camera body. After the second cycle, the BMS recalibrates its reference map and the percentage reading stabilises. If it still jumps after two cycles, check resting voltage on a multimeter — a healthy charged cell should read at or above 6.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Loewe H801 is showing a "no battery" warning even though the replacement is fully charged — what's happening?
The camera's BMS runs an authentication check on first install and can reject a new cell if it hasn't seen a charge cycle completed inside the body. Remove the battery, reinsert it, and charge it fully using the camera body rather than an external charger. That charge cycle gives the BMS the handshake data it needs to recognise the cell as valid. After one full in-body charge, the warning clears for normal use.
My shot count is much lower than I expected — is the battery faulty?
Shot count drops fast when the flash is firing frequently, continuous autofocus is active, or the LCD is on at full brightness — these draws stack on top of the base capture load and aren't reflected in the manufacturer's quoted figure. That spec is typically measured under minimal-draw conditions. To extend shot count per charge, reduce flash frequency and lower screen brightness during review. If the cell is still depleting faster than expected under light use, check resting voltage after a full charge — it should read at or above 6.0V.
The flash on my Loewe camera is taking noticeably longer to recycle between shots — is this a battery issue?
Flash capacitor recharge pulls a high current spike each cycle, and if the cell's internal resistance has risen — common toward the end of a charge cycle or after many charge-discharge cycles — the voltage sags under that spike and the recycling slows. Check whether the delay appears early in a charge or only near the end — if it's only near the end, that's normal voltage sag as the cell depletes. If recycling is slow immediately after a full charge, the cell may need a conditioning cycle: discharge fully in the camera, then charge completely in-body, and test again.
