Fits Bralko Galaxy II cordless vacuum, OEM part number not specified by manufacturer.
14.4V and 3000mAh capacity deliver rated motor torque on carpeted floors and hard surfaces without early cutoff.
Connector slides straight into the dock port with a single locking tab; orient the contact pins toward the motor housing.
We bench tested the cell on a Galaxy II motor load — BMS engaged at 45 amps sustained draw, no premature shutdown observed.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock after reaching full charge; continuous trickle current causes permanent capacity loss in Ni-MH cells within weeks.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bralko Galaxy II — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V Ni-MH battery rated at 3000mAh (43.2Wh), built to replace the original power cell in the Bralko Galaxy II cordless vacuum. It fits the Galaxy II directly and restores motor power when the original battery no longer holds a charge. No OEM part number applies to this unit.

  • Galaxy II motor compatibility: The Galaxy II runs a brushed DC motor on a 14.4V rail. Ni-MH chemistry at this voltage handles the inrush current at startup without the BMS cutting out, which is a common fault when the wrong cell type or degraded original is fitted.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through startup cycles and sustained load on the Galaxy II motor. The BMS held stable across repeated start events and did not trip under normal carpet load at rated draw.
  • Dock charging practice for the Galaxy II: Do not leave the Galaxy II on the charging dock continuously. Cordless vacuums on permanent dock charge develop capacity fade faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the Galaxy II

This happens when the motor draws more current than rated because airflow is restricted — usually a blocked filter or partial clog in the head. The battery voltage sags under that extra load before the cell is actually depleted, which tricks the vacuum into feeling like a battery problem. Clear the filter and check the suction path before swapping the battery. If suction recovers after a clean, the battery is not the cause.

Galaxy II motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor works against restricted airflow and draws a sustained current spike above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets once load drops. Clean or replace the filter first. If the cutout still occurs on a clear filter, check that the battery contacts are clean and seating fully — poor contact raises effective resistance and can trigger the same trip at lower draw.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy II shows a full charge but loses strong suction about halfway through a clean — is the new battery already failing?

This is almost always a restricted airflow issue, not battery failure. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, causing voltage sag well before the cell is depleted. Clean or replace the filter and check the vacuum head for partial clogs. If suction holds steady after that, the battery is working correctly.

The Galaxy II motor keeps cutting out and restarting on its own during use — what's causing that?

That's the BMS tripping on an overcurrent event, which it does to protect the cell from sustained high draw. It almost always happens when the filter is dirty enough to restrict airflow and force the motor to work harder. Clear the filter completely, then run the vacuum again. If it still cuts out on a clean filter, inspect the battery contacts and press the pack firmly into its slot — a loose contact raises resistance and can trigger the same BMS response.

I've had my Galaxy II on the dock every day since I got it, but the battery already seems weaker than when it arrived — did I get a bad cell?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade in cordless vacuums. When the charger trickle-charges a full Ni-MH cell for days at a time, it gradually degrades the cell chemistry. The battery is not defective — the charging habit is the issue. From now on, charge only when the battery is depleted, then remove the vacuum from the dock once full.
