Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bosch BBHMOVE6 Series — 18V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (FD9403)
This is an 18V 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Bosch BBHMOVE6 cordless vacuum cleaner and closely related BBHMOVE4 variants. It slots into the same battery bay as the original and restores full operating voltage to the vacuum's motor and suction system. Capacity is rated at 54Wh, matching the original specification.
- BBHMOVE4 and BBHMOVE6 compatibility: Both series run the same 18V battery rail, share the same physical connector, and use the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single battery covers both platforms across multiple production variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under sustained suction load on a BBHMOVE6 unit. The BMS held steady through the motor start surge, and voltage stayed within the expected operating window across a full discharge cycle. No mid-cycle cutoff occurred.
- Dock charging on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging on Ni-MH cells compresses capacity far faster than normal cycling. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On Ni-MH cells, voltage sag under motor load starts before the charge indicator registers a problem. The indicator reads resting cell voltage, not load voltage — so the vacuum can feel weak while the gauge still shows adequate charge. A partially clogged filter makes this worse by forcing the motor to work harder, pulling more current and accelerating sag. If suction feels weak early in a session, clean the filter before concluding the battery is at fault.
Motor cuts out briefly, then restores itself mid-clean
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, full dustbin, or a soft-blockage in the nozzle — the motor draws sustained current above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, then resets once current normalises. Clear the restriction and check that the dustbin is below maximum fill. If the trip still occurs on an unobstructed vacuum, measure resting cell voltage — it should read at or above 18V when fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BBHMOVE6 suction feels noticeably weaker halfway through cleaning, but the battery light still shows charged — what's happening?
The battery indicator reads resting voltage, not voltage under motor load. Ni-MH cells show healthy resting voltage while sagging significantly when the motor draws current — the indicator lags behind real performance. A restricted filter multiplies this effect by forcing the motor to draw more than its rated current. Clean the filter first; if suction still drops under load, the cell is likely past its usable capacity.
The vacuum motor keeps cutting out for a second or two then coming back on — is the new battery faulty?
That behaviour is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a defective cell. The BMS cuts power when current exceeds its threshold under sustained restricted airflow, then resets automatically once the draw drops. Check the filter, dustbin fill level, and nozzle for soft blockages before assuming a cell fault. If the motor trips on a fully clear vacuum, measure resting voltage at the battery terminals — a healthy fully charged Ni-MH pack should read at or above 18V.
I left my BBHMOVE6 on the dock permanently between uses and now the battery drains noticeably faster than when it was new — did I damage the cells?
Yes — continuous dock charging is the most common cause of accelerated capacity fade in Ni-MH cordless vacuums. Prolonged trickle current on Ni-MH chemistry compresses usable capacity over time, a process called voltage depression. A replacement cell will restore capacity, but the same pattern will repeat if the vacuum stays on the dock. Charge to full, remove the vacuum from the dock, and only return it to charge when the battery is genuinely depleted.
