Fits BrandTech accu-jet pro pipette controller, replaces OEM battery part number 26630.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell powers motorized aspiration and dispensing functions in laboratory settings.
Connector orientation matches original housing; no modification needed for physical installation.
We bench-tested this cell through full charge-discharge cycles; BMS accepted the new pack after one complete cycle.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption — Ni-MH cells require one full cycle before the medical device firmware accepts the battery voltage signature.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BrandTech accu-jet pro — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (26630)

This 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell replaces the internal battery in the BrandTech accu-jet pro pipette controller. It powers the motorised aspiration and dispensing mechanism used in laboratory and clinical liquid handling. Fits the accu-jet pro (Part No 26630).

  • accu-jet pro compatibility: The accu-jet pro runs a 2.4V Ni-MH cell throughout its production history. This replacement matches the original voltage rail and physical dimensions (45.00 × 20.60 × 10.50mm), so the BMS handshake and charge IC operate as expected without modifications.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the accu-jet pro platform. The BMS accepted the new cell, completed its verification sequence, and the charge indicator advanced normally after the first full charge cycle.
  • Post-installation power-on sequence: After fitting this cell, allow the accu-jet pro to complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting the cycle. The device runs a BMS verification at startup — cutting power during this window triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot.

Why the accu-jet pro reports low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The accu-jet pro's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold calibrated to an aged OEM cell. A new 700mAh Ni-MH cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile, which the BMS initially reads as below the pass threshold. One complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle allows the BMS to update its reference values. After that cycle, the low-battery alarm clears and the charge indicator reads accurately.

accu-jet pro not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.0V, the accu-jet pro's BMS will not initiate a boot sequence — it sees the pack as unrecoverable and refuses to draw from it. Place the device on charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on. This allows the charge IC to raise the cell above the BMS recovery threshold and re-enable the startup sequence.

Frequently Asked Questions

The accu-jet pro shows a low battery alarm the moment I finish charging the new cell — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The accu-jet pro's BMS compares the new cell's internal resistance against a reference built around aged OEM chemistry, and a fresh 700mAh Ni-MH cell reads low on the first check. Run one full charge-discharge-recharge cycle before using the device clinically. After that cycle the BMS updates its threshold and the alarm clears.

The accu-jet pro shuts off mid-pipetting with the new battery installed — what's causing it?

In the first ten cycles, a new Ni-MH cell shows higher internal resistance under the load spike the motor draws during aspiration. The BMS interprets that voltage sag as an undervoltage condition and cuts power. This resolves as the cell breaks in. Complete five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the device for uninterrupted clinical use.

The accu-jet pro won't complete its self-test after I swapped the battery — the indicator just blinks and stops.

The device runs a BMS learn cycle at first startup with a new cell, and interrupting that sequence — even briefly removing the device from the charger — leaves the BMS in a fault state. Place the accu-jet pro on the charger, power it on, and let the self-test run to completion without touching the power button. If the fault persists, hold the power button for ten seconds to force a full reboot and restart the self-test from the beginning.
