Fits Braun Activator 8000, Activator 8781, Activator 8467, Activator 360, and five additional Braun shaver models; replaces OEM Ni-MH cell pack.
1.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 2.4Wh to the motor — enough to restore full cutting speed on Braun rotary shavers that show motor fade.
Cylindrical Ni-MH cell slides into the battery housing vertically; locking tab seats flush when inserted fully into the Braun cartridge.
We bench-tested this cell on a Braun shaver motor load — BMS accepted charge cycle with no fault flags and held voltage stable under blade rotation.
After installing this cell, charge the shaver in the dock for a full cycle before use; Braun shavers with new Ni-MH packs can show slightly reduced motor speed for the first two charging cycles while the cell reaches capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Braun Activator 8000 Series — 1.2V Ni-MH 2000mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 1.2V Ni-MH rechargeable cell rated at 2000mAh (2.4Wh), replacing the internal battery in Braun Activator shavers. It fits the Activator 8000, 8781, 8467, and Activator 360, among others. When the original cell no longer holds a charge, this swap restores the shaver's cutting power without replacing the whole unit.

  • Activator 8000 series fit: These Braun Activator models share the same 1.2V single-cell Ni-MH architecture, identical cell dimensions (50.00 × 14.80 × 14.50mm), and the same BMS charge-termination behaviour. One cell fits the full group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Activator's charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge termination correctly at peak detection. Motor engagement voltage held within spec across repeated cycles with no premature cutoff.
  • Charging port drying — Activator-specific: Dry the charging port completely before connecting to the charger after rinsing. Moisture bridging the charging contacts triggers a BMS protection trip the shaver reports as a dead battery — not a charging fault. A dry cotton swab clears the contacts before reconnecting.

Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the Activator

Ni-MH cells in shavers charged daily — before the pack is meaningfully depleted — develop a soft memory effect over months. The charge circuit's peak-detection termination fires earlier against a shallower voltage curve. The result is a cell that accepts less charge each cycle even though it shows full on the indicator. Running the shaver fully down to cutoff once every three to four weeks resets the cycle depth and slows this drift.

Motor speed drops before the low-battery indicator activates

The Activator's shaver motor draws a short current spike at startup that pulls cell voltage down momentarily. As a Ni-MH cell ages, internal resistance rises and that voltage sag deepens — slowing the motor before the indicator circuit registers low. The BMS cutoff threshold sits below the motor's functional voltage floor, so the indicator can still show charge while the motor is already underperforming. Replacing the cell brings internal resistance back down and eliminates the sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Braun Activator shaver cuts out mid-shave but still shows battery on the indicator — what's happening?

This is a voltage sag issue, not an indicator fault. As the Ni-MH cell ages, internal resistance rises and the motor's startup current draw pulls the cell voltage below the motor's operating threshold before the indicator circuit trips. The indicator reads average resting voltage, which still looks fine — but under load, the cell can't sustain it. Replacing the cell resolves the sag; a healthy Ni-MH cell holds above 1.0V under the motor's draw.

The Activator stopped charging after I rinsed it — the dock light comes on but the battery doesn't charge. Is the dock broken?

Most likely the charging contacts have moisture bridging them, triggering a BMS protection trip. The dock light activates on contact, so it appears to be working — but the BMS has isolated the cell from the charge circuit. Dry the port and both dock contacts thoroughly with a dry cotton swab, leave the shaver upright for 20–30 minutes, then reconnect. If the BMS doesn't reset after a full dry reconnect, the cell itself may need replacement.

The Activator's indicator drifts — it shows full after a short charge and then dies quickly. Can that be fixed?

This is indicator drift caused by shallow daily cycling. Ni-MH cells charged repeatedly before they've meaningfully depleted develop a compressed voltage curve, and the charge termination circuit fires too early — so the cell never reaches true capacity. Run the shaver to full cutoff without interruption, then charge it completely in one session. Repeat this two or three times and the voltage curve resets enough for the charge circuit to calibrate correctly again.
