Fits CAT S41 smartphone and replaces original APP00223 Li-Polymer battery pack directly.
3.85V and 4400mAh capacity sustain the modem, display, and processor load across full work shifts in field conditions.
Connector seats flat against the phone's internal contact pad with no mechanical locking tab — ensure alignment before closing the back cover.
We bench-tested the new BMS against the CAT S41's fuel gauge IC; the cell accepted charge current cleanly and voltage held steady under 2A discharge load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CATERPILLAR CAT S41 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (APP00223)

This is a 3.85V, 4400mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the CATERPILLAR CAT S41 rugged smartphone. It replaces OEM part APP00223 and fits directly into the S41's battery bay. Use it when the original cell degrades, loses charge too fast, or begins to swell.

  • CAT S41 fitment: The S41 uses a fixed-footprint bay with a specific connector orientation tied to its fuel gauge IC. This cell matches the 66.40 × 58.22 × 7.65mm dimensions and connector position, so the BMS handshake completes without errors on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the S41 board. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, voltage held steady under concurrent LTE and screen load, and charge termination triggered correctly at capacity.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: After installing this cell, disable fast charging in the S41's settings and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC recalibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before fast charging pushes high current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the CAT S41 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. A fresh cell has a steeper voltage drop curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was trained on. When the modem fires or the screen brightness spikes, the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the reported percentage looks fine. The fix is one full discharge to 0% and a complete uninterrupted charge to 100% — this lets the coulomb counter re-map the actual voltage curve of the new cell. After that cycle, the percentage readout and the true remaining charge align correctly.

CAT S41 reporting wrong battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge profile from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC continues referencing that old curve, which causes the percentage to jump erratically or plateau far above actual charge. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration mismatch. Charge the phone to 100% without interruption, then let it discharge fully in normal use without topping up. One complete uninterrupted cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the reported percentage with the cell's real state of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CAT S41 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. This is a voltage cliff — the fuel gauge IC is still reading off the old cell's discharge curve, so it reports 25% when the actual voltage is already near BMS cutoff under modem or screen load. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to 0%, then charge straight to 100% without topping up mid-cycle. After that single calibration cycle the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working on my S41 the first time I plugged in the new battery — what happened?

On the first connection, the BMS on a new cell can reject the USB-PD handshake until it has completed one standard-rate charge cycle. The phone defaults to trickle or standard charge as a protection measure. Charge fully once at the standard rate using the original CAT cable and charger, then disconnect and reconnect — the fast charge protocol negotiation succeeds on the second cycle in almost all cases.

The CAT S41 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in the box for a few months before I installed it — how do I recover it?

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage. Plug the phone into the original CAT charger and leave it connected for at least 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to bring the cell voltage above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond. Once the charging LED or indicator appears, continue to a full charge before powering on.
