This happens when a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than its rated load. Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. Sustained restricted airflow — usually a blocked filter or a jammed brush roll — causes the motor to pull above the BMS current threshold. The circuit opens to protect the cell, the vacuum stops, and it resets once the BMS cools and current drops. Clear the blockage first. If cut-outs continue on an unobstructed vacuum, check that the battery voltage under load does not drop below 3.0V — that indicates a degraded cell that needs replacing.
