Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cecotec Conga 8090 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (U099-4S1P / U099-4S2P)
This 14.4V, 5200mAh (74.88Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Cecotec Conga 8090, Conga 8090 Ultra, Conga 8090 Ultra T, and Conga 8090 Ultra X robotic vacuum cleaners. It matches the OEM voltage rail and connector geometry for those models. Fit the replacement and the robot picks up where the degraded original left off.
- Conga 8090 platform fit: The 8090, 8090 Ultra, 8090 Ultra T, and 8090 Ultra X all share the same battery bay dimensions and 14.4V power architecture. The U099-4S1P and U099-4S2P part numbers cover both single and double parallel cell configurations at the same nominal voltage, so the BMS handshake and connector remain consistent across variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Conga 8090 platform and confirmed the BMS completed a full charge cycle without fault codes. The protection circuit responded correctly to load spikes from the brush motor engaging on carpet transitions.
- Dock charging behaviour on the Conga 8090: Do not leave the robot sitting on the dock indefinitely between cleans. The Conga 8090 dock delivers a trickle charge once the battery reaches full — prolonged trickle charging accelerates cell degradation faster than standard cycle wear. Charge to full, then lift the unit off the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low on the Conga 8090
This happens when the brush motor draws above its rated current — usually caused by a partially blocked filter or tangled brush roll — and the battery voltage sags under that elevated load. The BMS reads the sag as low cell voltage and throttles power to the motor before the indicator reaches the low-battery threshold. The robot appears to be losing battery when it is actually reacting to a restricted airflow path. Clean the HEPA filter and clear the brush roll, then recheck — suction should stabilise well above the low indicator.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery fault. When the brush motor stalls — against a rug edge, a cord, or a clogged intake — current draw spikes sharply and the BMS opens the output circuit to protect the cells. The robot pauses, the BMS resets after a few seconds, and the motor restarts. If this happens repeatedly in the same area, the motor is hitting a sustained restriction. Clear the obstruction, check that the filter is clean, and confirm no debris is jammed in the brush bearing before resuming the clean cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Conga 8090 seems to run out of power much sooner than it used to, even with a new battery fitted — what's causing that?
A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor draws more current than rated, which drains the cell faster and can trigger early BMS throttling. Remove and clean the HEPA filter, then clear the brush roll of any tangled hair or debris. After that, run a full clean cycle from 100% charge and compare — a clean airflow path restores normal draw on the battery.
The Conga 8090 sits on the dock all day between cleans — could that be damaging the new battery?
Yes. The dock continues to push a trickle charge into the battery once it reaches full, and sustained trickle charging degrades lithium-ion cells faster than regular cycle use. Over weeks this shows up as progressively shorter clean cycles even though the robot charges to 100%. Remove the robot from the dock once the charge indicator shows full and store it off the charger until the next clean.
The replacement battery is fitted correctly but the Conga 8090 won't start charging on the dock — what should I check?
The Conga 8090 charger expects a specific BMS handshake before it initiates a charge cycle. If the BMS in the replacement cell powers up in a deep-discharge protection state — common if the cell shipped at a very low state of charge — the dock may not detect it correctly. Connect the robot to the dock and leave it undisturbed for 15–20 minutes; some BMS circuits require a brief low-current pre-charge phase before they signal the charger to proceed. If the charge indicator still does not activate, check that the dock contacts are clean and measure dock output voltage — it should read approximately 16.8V DC at the pins.
