Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Trifo Emma Pet / Lucy — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SUN-INTE-212)
This 14.4V 6400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Trifo Emma Pet and Lucy robot vacuums. It matches the OEM voltage rail and BMS communication protocol for both models. Capacity is sourced from the product data at 6400mAh (92.16Wh).
- Emma Pet and Lucy compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, 14.4V nominal voltage rail, and BMS handshake logic — that is why a single cell covers both platforms. The connector pinout and thermal sensor wiring are identical across the two.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the Emma Pet platform under load and confirmed the BMS negotiated correctly on first insertion. The overcurrent cutoff tripped at expected thresholds during restricted-airflow simulation, then reset cleanly once the blockage was cleared.
- Dock charging behaviour on robot vacuums: Do not leave the Emma Pet or Lucy sitting on the charging dock continuously between uses. Robot vacuums on permanent dock contact receive a sustained trickle charge that accelerates cell degradation. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next cleaning cycle.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on Emma Pet
This happens when the motor is working harder than the battery expects — usually because a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current. The BMS reads the elevated draw as a low-state-of-charge condition and begins stepping down power delivery before the indicator reflects it. Clean or replace the HEPA filter first. If suction recovers immediately, the battery was fine — the filter was starving the motor.
Motor cuts out mid-cycle then restarts on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum encounters sustained airflow restriction — packed pet hair in the brush roll, a clogged filter, or a sealed floor surface — current draw spikes and the BMS shuts the motor output to protect the cell. The pack resets once current normalises, which is why the vacuum restarts after a few seconds. Clear the brush roll and filter, then resume. If the trip repeats on a clean machine, verify the replacement cell voltage sits at or above 14.0V before reinstalling.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Emma Pet docks itself and charges fine, but suction is noticeably weaker than it used to be even with a full charge — what's happening?
Capacity fade from continuous dock charging is the most common cause. When a robot vacuum lives on the dock between every run, the cell never fully discharges — repeated shallow cycles and constant trickle contact degrade lithium-ion cells faster than normal use. A replacement cell will restore output, but remove it from the dock once charging completes to slow future fade. Charge only when the battery is genuinely depleted.
The vacuum cuts out after a few minutes on thick carpet, pauses, then carries on by itself — is this the battery failing?
Not necessarily. That cut-and-recover pattern is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, which happens when the motor strains against a loaded brush roll or restricted filter on high-pile carpet. The BMS shuts motor output, waits for current to drop, then resets. Check the brush roll for wrapped pet hair and tap out the filter before assuming the cell is at fault. If the trip stops after cleaning, the battery was healthy — the motor was pulling too hard.
The replacement battery installed correctly but the Emma Pet shows a charging fault and won't complete a charge cycle — what should we check first?
Some Trifo chargers verify a BMS handshake before allowing a full charge cycle — if the new cell's BMS doesn't respond within the expected window, the charger faults out. Confirm the OEM part number on the replacement matches SUN-INTE-212 or SUN-INTE-278. If the part number is correct, seat the battery firmly, power cycle the dock by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then reinsert the vacuum. A clean dock restart clears most handshake timeouts.
