Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cecotec Conga 8090 Ultra — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (84815)
This 14.4V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Cecotec Conga 8090 Ultra, Conga 8090 Ultra T, Conga 8090 Ultra X, and Conga 9090 Ai robotic vacuum cleaners. It matches the OEM voltage rail, connector, and BMS communication protocol. Capacity is 5200mAh (74.88Wh) — drawn directly from the product specification, not estimated.
- Conga 8090 Ultra and 9090 Ai compatibility: These four models share the same 14.4V battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake sequence. The 9090 Ai runs the same power architecture as the 8090 Ultra line, so one cell serves all four without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge, standby, and full motor-load draw. The BMS held stable voltage under sustained suction load and tripped correctly at the rated low-voltage cutoff — no false shutdowns, no overcurrent events during ramp-up.
- Dock charging practice for Conga robovacs: Do not leave the Conga on the charging dock permanently. Robotic vacuums kept on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade significantly faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full and remove from dock until the next clean cycle.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The Conga 8090 Ultra drives its suction motor from the same cell voltage that powers navigation and sensors. When the battery ages and internal resistance climbs, voltage sags under motor load even though the indicator still reads mid-charge. The motor does not get the voltage it needs, so suction output falls before the low-battery warning fires. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance restores full motor voltage and brings suction back to rated performance across the full clean cycle.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip — not a dead battery. It happens when the filter is partially blocked, forcing the motor to pull more current than the BMS threshold allows. The BMS cuts the cell to protect it, the robot stops, and after a short rest the BMS resets and the unit recovers. Clean or replace the filter first. If cut-outs continue with a clean filter, check that cell voltage at rest reads above 14.0V — below that, the battery is too degraded to sustain load spikes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Conga 8090 Ultra stops mid-clean and then starts again after sitting — is the battery failing?
Not necessarily the battery. This stop-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the motor drawing above its rated current limit — most often because a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder. Clean the filter completely and run another cycle. If the cut-outs stop, the battery was fine. If they continue with a clean filter and a charged cell, measure resting voltage — a pack that drops below 14.0V at rest under light load has degraded past useful capacity.
The Conga cleans for a shorter time than it used to and suction feels weaker, but the battery indicator barely moved — what is happening?
An aged battery with high internal resistance loses voltage under motor load even when the indicator shows charge remaining. The indicator reads cell state-of-charge, not the voltage the motor actually receives during operation. As internal resistance rises, the voltage delivered to the motor sags, reducing suction output and triggering low-voltage cutoff earlier than the indicator predicts. Replacing the cell restores the low internal resistance the motor needs to hold full voltage through the whole clean cycle.
I left my Conga on the dock between cleans for several months and now the runtime is noticeably shorter — did I damage the battery?
Yes — continuous dock charging is the most common cause of premature capacity fade in robotic vacuums. The charger keeps a small trickle current flowing once the pack is full, and sustained trickle charge degrades Li-ion cells faster than regular charge-discharge cycling does. The capacity loss is permanent in the original cell. With the replacement pack, charge to full, then remove the robot from the dock and only return it when the battery needs a charge.
