Fits Cingular 8125 and 8150 smartphones; replaces OEM part number WIZA16.
3.7V, 2350mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the same capacity as factory pack for calls, messaging, and PDA data functions.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is marked on the housing.
We bench-tested this cell in an 8125 unit — BMS initialized cleanly on first insertion, voltage curve stable under talk load, no early cutoff.
On first charge after installation, let the device discharge fully to zero before recharging; the fuel gauge IC needs one complete cycle to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve, otherwise the phone reports incorrect percentage for the next week.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cingular 8125 / 8150 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WIZA16)

This is a 3.7V, 2350mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Cingular 8125 and 8150 Windows Mobile smartphones. It replaces OEM part number WIZA16. If your original battery swells, won't hold a charge, or the phone dies unexpectedly, this is the direct cell swap.

  • 8125 and 8150 compatibility: Both devices run on the same voltage rail, use the same physical battery bay, and share the WIZA16 OEM part number. One cell covers both handsets without any adapter or connector modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on the 8125 platform and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the charge IC, accepts a full charge cycle without thermal event, and releases voltage cleanly under combined modem and display load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The 8125 fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve during that first full cycle — skipping it causes erratic percentage readings for days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cingular 8125

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. Aged Li-ion cells develop high internal resistance and can no longer sustain voltage under the combined load of the modem radio and backlit display. The BMS reads the voltage drop as a hard cutoff and shuts the device down even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. A new cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage through those load spikes. After fitting this replacement, the shutdown-at-30% pattern stops within one full recalibration cycle.

Phone warm near the battery door during the first charge

A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher impedance than a broken-in one. On the first charge, the 8125 charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell and generates more heat than normal. This is expected and settles after one or two full cycles as impedance drops. If the device is still noticeably warm after the third charge, check that the battery door is fully seated — a loose contact forces the charge IC to retry, extending charge time and heat. Skin temperature at the battery door should drop to ambient within a few seconds of removing it from the charger.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cingular 8125 shows 25% battery left and then just switches off — is the new cell faulty?

It is not a fault in the cell. The 8125 fuel gauge IC is still reading the discharge curve of the old battery, so the percentage shown no longer matches the actual voltage of the new cell. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown and then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that single recalibration cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my 8125 jumps around — it was at 60%, then jumped to 80%, then dropped to 40% within minutes.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a defective cell. The 8125 stores a learned discharge model for the old battery, and the new cell's different discharge curve throws off those stored reference points. Perform one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a continuous charge to 100% without interruption. The fuel gauge rewrites its reference table during that cycle, and the jumping stops.

My Cingular 8125 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what do I do?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell the BMS entered a lockout state to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the device powers on normally. If there is no response after 45 minutes on a wall charger, check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated.
