Fits Cisco Linksys WIP310 cordless handsets, replacing OEM battery CIW31ZBR.
This 3.7V, 800mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the voltage and capacity the WIP310 base requires for proper charging recognition and handset RF performance.
Battery slides into the handset compartment with a single locking tab; connector is a two-pin spring contact on the pack.
We bench-tested this cell in a WIP310 base station — the BMS accepted the charge signal on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; lithium-ion cells in DECT phones draw standby current continuously, so charge time conditions the pack for full talk time capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cisco Linksys WIP310 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CIW31ZBR)

This is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Cisco Linksys WIP310 wireless IP phone. It fits directly into the WIP310 handset and restores power to the device when the original cell has degraded. Voltage and connector match the OEM specification (CIW31ZBR).

  • WIP310 compatibility: The WIP310 runs a single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V nominal. The handset BMS accepts this cell's charge profile and cutoff voltages without modification — no adapter or firmware workaround needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the WIP310 platform. The BMS accepted the charge curve without flagging a fault, and voltage held steady across the operating range during active WiFi transmission.
  • First-charge protocol for WIP310: Place the handset in the base cradle immediately after installation and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge cycle before use. Li-ion cells shipped in storage state need one complete charge to allow the BMS to calibrate its state-of-charge reading accurately.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting the new battery

A Li-ion cell shipped from storage arrives at a partial state of charge, and the WIP310 BMS may register this as a lower-capacity pack until it completes a full calibration cycle. The first one to three charge-discharge cycles are calibration passes, not failures. After each full cycle, the reported and actual capacity will converge. Run the handset to low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — talk time should normalise within three cycles.

Base station charge indicator not lighting after battery swap

The WIP310 base checks for a minimum voltage threshold before it begins charging — a cell in deep storage state can sit below that threshold. If the charge LED does not activate when you dock the handset, remove the battery and check the contacts on both the battery and the handset are clean and making solid contact. Reinsert firmly and re-dock. If the base still does not respond, the cell voltage may need a brief recovery charge — a compatible external Li-ion charger set to 3.7V single-cell mode can bring the cell above the 3.0V acceptance floor so the base will then take over.

Frequently Asked Questions

My WIP310 handset is losing the WiFi connection mid-call after fitting the replacement battery — what's causing it?

Under active WiFi transmission, the WIP310 draws a short burst of higher current. If the battery contacts are not fully seated, voltage at the radio module sags during that burst and the WiFi chipset resets. Remove the battery, clean the gold contacts on both the cell and the handset compartment with a dry cloth, reinsert until it clicks, and re-dock. The connection should hold through transmission bursts once contact resistance is eliminated.

The WIP310 handset is draining to flat overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a cell fault. The WIP310 charges through pogo pins on the base cradle — if the handset is slightly misaligned, the charging circuit never closes and the handset runs entirely on battery in standby. Lift the handset out, re-seat it squarely in the cradle, and check that the charge indicator lights on the base. A properly docked WIP310 draws charge continuously in standby and the battery should read full by morning.

The WIP310 lost its registration with the call server after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back online?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the WIP310, which clears the volatile memory holding the active SIP registration. The handset needs to re-register with your VoIP server or router on next boot. Power the handset on, allow it to connect to your WiFi network, then navigate to the handset's admin menu and trigger a manual SIP re-registration — or simply reboot your SIP server so it issues a fresh registration challenge. The handset will respond and restore the extension automatically once the exchange completes.
