Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cisco M2120 / F360 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Cisco M2120, M2120M, F360, and F360B cameras. It matches the original cell's voltage, capacity, and physical dimensions — 52.58 x 34.10 x 5.60mm — so it seats correctly in the battery compartment. Replace this when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or fails to power the camera on.
- M2120 and F360 platform fit: The M2120, M2120M, F360, and F360B share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V voltage rail, which is why one cell covers all four models. The connector orientation and BMS handshake protocol are consistent across this Cisco camera family.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on compatible hardware and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes. Charge acceptance was normal from the first cycle, and the protection circuit responded correctly to cutoff thresholds at both ends of the voltage range.
- First-cycle calibration on the M2120: After fitting the new cell, run one complete charge cycle inside the camera body using the OEM charger or USB source before your first shoot. Some Cisco M2120 units need this initial in-body charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve and display battery-remaining accurately.
Why the M2120 shows a dead-battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
The M2120 maps its battery indicator to a voltage-threshold table stored from the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance will hit those thresholds at different state-of-charge points, making the indicator read low or empty even when the cell still has capacity. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty battery. One full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body resets the mapping and brings the indicator back into alignment with the actual cell state.
Camera body warm during sustained video recording on the M2120
The M2120's sensor, image processor, and stabilisation circuits draw simultaneously during video, which pulls more current from the 1000mAh cell than still-capture does. At high sustained draw, the cell's internal temperature rises and the BMS may throttle output to stay within safe limits — this is normal protection behaviour, not a defect. If the camera body feels warm and frame rate drops, pause recording briefly to let the cell temperature recover. Avoid recording in direct sunlight, as ambient heat reduces the BMS thermal headroom further.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Cisco M2120 shows "no battery" or refuses to start with the new cell installed — what's happening?
The M2120 BMS performs an authentication check on first contact with a new cell and will sometimes reject it if the cell voltage hasn't been seen before by the body's firmware. Place the battery in the OEM charger or connect the camera to its USB charging source for a full charge cycle before attempting to power it on — this primes the cell voltage to a level the BMS expects. If the camera still shows no battery after a full charge, remove and reseat the cell firmly to rule out a contact issue. On most M2120 units, one in-body charge cycle is enough to clear the rejection.
The battery percentage on my M2120 jumps around — it reads 80%, drops to 20%, then climbs again mid-shoot. Is the cell defective?
This is a voltage-threshold mapping issue, not a faulty cell. The M2120's fuel gauge reads percentage by comparing real-time cell voltage against a stored table built from the original battery's discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different discharge profile hits those voltage points at different charge levels, causing erratic percentage readings. Run one full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body — discharge until the camera shuts down, then charge to 100% uninterrupted — and the indicator will recalibrate to the new cell's curve.
Shot count per charge seems lower than expected with the new battery, especially when using continuous autofocus — is this normal?
Continuous AF, optical stabilisation, and the EVF all draw current simultaneously on top of the sensor and processor load, so real-world shot counts fall below any rated figure based on standard test conditions. The M2120's 1000mAh cell is the same capacity as the original, so if shot count drops noticeably below what you got from a new OEM cell, check that the battery percentage indicator has been calibrated with a full charge cycle first — an uncalibrated cell can trigger an early low-battery shutdown while capacity remains. After calibration, if count is still short, measure resting cell voltage after a full charge — it should read at or above 4.15V; anything lower indicates a cell that did not reach full charge.
