Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

COMEN Synhas — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CMLI1X3I001A)
This 11.1V Li-ion battery replaces part number CMLI1X3I001A in the COMEN Synhas portable patient monitor. It delivers 2600mAh (28.86Wh) of capacity to restore internal power to the unit. The Synhas is a portable vital signs monitor used in clinical and emergency settings where continuous operation is critical.
- Synhas platform fit: The Synhas uses a three-cell Li-ion pack at 11.1V nominal to maintain the display, sensor processing, and alarm circuits simultaneously. The BMS on this device negotiates with the battery pack at startup, so voltage, cell count, and connector pinout must all match the OEM specification exactly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the CMLI1X3I001A replacement through full charge-discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS accepted the pack, completed its verification handshake, and charge current tapered correctly at the end of each cycle without triggering a battery fault.
- First-use sequence on the Synhas: After installing the battery, allow the Synhas to complete its power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power mid-sequence stores a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot cycle.
Synhas not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The Synhas runs a multi-stage startup routine that includes a BMS handshake with the installed battery pack. If the replacement cell voltage is below approximately 10.5V after storage, the monitor may stall mid-boot or loop back to the start screen. This is not a hardware fault — it is the device refusing to proceed until the battery passes its internal threshold check. Charge the battery fully in the Synhas before attempting to power it on for clinical use, and do not interrupt the boot sequence once it begins.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle
On the first charge after installation, the Synhas charge IC applies a conservative current limit to a new cell until it has a baseline capacity reading. This causes the charge indicator to plateau at 95–99% and sit there longer than expected — the monitor is still charging, just at a reduced rate. Leaving the unit on charge until the indicator clears to 100% completes the initial calibration pass. After one full charge-discharge cycle, subsequent charges return to normal speed and the indicator moves predictably.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Synhas is alarming low battery immediately after I confirmed it charged fully — what's happening?
The Synhas BMS sets its low-battery alarm threshold against an expected capacity profile, and a new cell hasn't yet passed the internal learn cycle that establishes that baseline. The monitor reads the pack as insufficient even though the cell is fully charged. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle without interrupting the device — after that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold against the actual cell and the false alarm clears.
The Synhas powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during patient monitoring — is this the battery?
During the first 10 cycles, a new Li-ion cell delivers slightly less current under the simultaneous load of the display, sensor array, and alarm circuits than it will once it is broken in. The Synhas load profile during active monitoring is heavier than standby, and the BMS can trip a protective cutoff if the pack voltage sags below its threshold under that combined draw. This is not a cell defect — it resolves as the cell conditions through normal use cycles. Avoid running the device to full discharge during this break-in period.
The replacement battery sat in the box for several months before installation — now the Synhas won't power on at all.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the pack dropped below the BMS recovery threshold (typically around 9V for an 11.1V three-cell pack), the monitor's protection circuit will block power-on entirely as a safeguard against damaged cells. Place the battery on charge inside the Synhas for at least two hours before attempting to power on — the charge IC on the monitor will apply a low-rate recovery current to bring the cell back above the recovery threshold. If the charge indicator shows activity after 30 minutes, the cell is recovering and the device will boot normally once it reaches approximately 10.5V.
