Fits Commpact Secuself Control Panel, replaces OEM part numbers BT3021 and BT1348.
4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent backup power during mains outages for continuous alarm operation.
Battery slides into the panel housing with standard connector alignment; no locking tab, clips secure after seating.
Bench testing showed stable voltage ramp on float charge with no BMS dropout; panel accepted the cell within two hours.
Do not run a zone test or diagnostic for 24-48 hours after installation — the panel requires full float charge acceptance before reporting accurate battery status, otherwise low-battery warnings appear prematurely.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Commpact Secuself Control Panel — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BT3021)

This 4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the backup cell in the Commpact Secuself Control Panel. It fits panels using OEM part numbers BT3021 and BT1348. The battery keeps the alarm system active when mains power drops.

  • Secuself panel compatibility: The Secuself Control Panel uses a 4.8V Ni-MH pack with a specific connector and charge management circuit. This cell matches that voltage rail and connector profile, so the panel's charge circuit accepts it without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the panel's float charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake correctly. Charge acceptance was normal and the low-battery indicator cleared within the expected window.
  • Post-installation wait before testing: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after swapping this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge before triggering a diagnostic. Running a test too early can cause the panel to flag a low-battery fault even though the cell is functioning correctly.

Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing new cell

The Secuself panel monitors backup battery voltage continuously. A freshly installed Ni-MH cell starts below the panel's acceptance threshold and needs time on float charge before it reads as full. The panel's charge circuit brings the cell up gradually — this is normal Ni-MH behaviour, not a fault. Give the cell a full 24–48 hours on mains power before concluding there is a problem.

Alarm loses programming during a mains outage after battery replacement

If the panel loses zone settings or user codes during a power cut shortly after a battery swap, the replacement cell had not yet reached sufficient charge to hold the panel's memory rail. The Secuself panel draws a small but steady current to retain programming — a cell below roughly 4.5V under load cannot sustain this. Install the new cell, restore mains power, and allow 48 hours of conditioning before testing with a deliberate outage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Secuself panel is showing a low battery warning but I just put the new BT3021 cell in — what's wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Secuself panel reads backup voltage against a threshold, and a brand-new Ni-MH cell starts below that line until the float charge circuit brings it up. This typically takes 24–48 hours on continuous mains power. Leave the panel powered and the warning will clear on its own once the cell reaches approximately 4.8V at rest.

The siren didn't sound during a walk test after I replaced the backup battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The Secuself panel imposes a short charge-stabilisation delay on a newly installed cell before it will allow a full siren trigger during test mode. This is the panel's protection behaviour, not a wiring or cell fault. Wait at least 30–60 minutes after installation, then repeat the walk test — the siren should respond normally once the panel confirms the cell is above its minimum operating voltage.

The panel showed a tamper fault straight after I changed the backup battery — what caused it?

A tamper fault after a cell swap almost always means the panel enclosure lid or battery access cover was not fully seated when it was closed. The Secuself panel has a tamper switch on the cover that triggers if there is even slight misalignment. Open the enclosure, reseat the cover firmly until you feel or hear it click, then check the panel display — the tamper fault should clear immediately without any further reset steps.
