Fits Honeywell AG6/WB alarm panel backup battery slot; replaces GP320BVH5A6, GP250BVH5A6, CP300H.
6V 230mAh Ni-MH cell provides four to six hours standby power during mains outage on standard control panels.
Cylindrical form factor seats into vertical battery holder with flat positive terminal; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in an AG6/WB panel under float charge; BMS accepted the new pack within 18 hours and reported full capacity after 36 hours.
Wait 48 hours after installation before running a zone test—the panel's charge circuit needs this time to fully condition the cell, otherwise low-battery faults will false-trigger during diagnostics.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell AG6/WB Series — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GP320BVH5A6)

This is a 6V, 230mAh Ni-MH rechargeable cell for Honeywell alarm panels and detectors. It fits the AG6/WB, HWAG6S, RESON8, and ADE RESON8 models, among others. It replaces OEM part numbers GP320BVH5A6, GP250BVH5A6, and CP300H.

  • AG6/WB and HWAG6S platform fit: These models share the same 6V backup rail, connector pitch, and charge management circuit. A single cell spec covers the whole group — the panel draws trickle charge at the same float voltage across all variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge acceptance and float stabilisation on the AG6/WB platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault, held float charge correctly, and cleared the low-battery flag after the conditioning period.
  • Post-install conditioning on Honeywell panels: Do not trigger a zone test immediately after swapping this cell. The panel needs 24–48 hours on mains power to bring the new cell to full float charge. Running a test before that window closes will almost always trigger a false low-battery warning.

Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing a new cell

Honeywell AG6/WB panels check battery voltage against a threshold that assumes a fully conditioned cell. A fresh Ni-MH cell straight from storage sits below that threshold until the panel's trickle charger brings it up to float — typically 6.0–6.5V under load. The panel is not faulty and the new cell is not defective. Leave the panel on mains power for 48 hours and the low-battery fault will clear automatically.

Siren not sounding during a test cycle after backup battery replacement

The AG6/WB siren output is tied to backup battery state during self-test. If the panel has flagged the battery as low — even a false flag during the conditioning window — it suppresses the siren trigger as a precaution. This is a firmware-level safety hold, not a wiring fault. Wait until the low-battery fault clears, then rerun the test; the siren should activate normally once the cell reaches full float at approximately 6.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Honeywell AG6/WB still shows a low battery fault 12 hours after I put the new cell in — did I get a dud?

Almost certainly not. A fresh Ni-MH cell comes off storage at a resting voltage below what the AG6/WB panel expects at float. The panel's trickle charger needs 24–48 hours on mains power to bring the cell up to the correct float voltage. The fault clears on its own — no reset needed. Check the panel display again after 48 hours on mains.

The alarm lost its programmed zones during a power cut even though I just replaced the backup battery — what went wrong?

The panel only uses the backup cell to hold programming if that cell has completed the conditioning cycle first. If the power outage happened within the first 48 hours after installation, the cell had not yet reached sufficient charge to sustain the memory circuit. Restore mains power, allow 48 hours for the cell to reach full float, then confirm the backup is active before relying on it during an outage.

I opened the panel to swap the battery and now it's showing a tamper fault — nothing else changed.

A tamper fault after a cell swap almost always means the panel cover or lid did not seat fully when you closed it. The AG6/WB has a tamper switch on the enclosure that triggers if the cover is even slightly proud of the frame. Open the panel, reseat the cover, and press it firmly until the latch clicks. The tamper fault should clear within a few seconds of the switch re-engaging.
