Fits Compal GL30, GL31, EL80, EL81 notebooks; replaces OEM battery pack CS-AUF3NB.
11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) lithium-ion restores full charge capacity on aging GL-series laptops.
Connector type matches OEM housing; 205.40 x 54.29 x 20.20mm slot accepts standard retention clip.
We bench-tested the BMS on GL30 circuitry; cell accepted full voltage profile with no early cutoff.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernate shutdown then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Compal GL30 / GL31 / EL80 / EL81 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for Compal GL30, GL31, EL80, EL81 and related notebook models. It slots into the original battery bay and connects via the same multi-pin interface used across this Compal platform. Voltage and physical dimensions match OEM spec: 205.40 × 54.29 × 20.20mm.

  • GL30 / GL31 / EL80 / EL81 platform compatibility: These models share the same 11.1V three-cell battery architecture, bay dimensions, and connector pinout. A single cell swap covers all variants without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under combined CPU and display load to confirm the BMS holds voltage above the cutoff threshold without tripping prematurely. Charge acceptance was verified from depleted state to full capacity without interruption at the 80% mark.
  • First-cycle calibration on Compal notebooks: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell replacement.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after swap

The GL30's BIOS reads health data cached in the old cell's EEPROM, not from a live measurement of the new cell. After a swap, that stale data persists until a full learn cycle rewrites it. The fix is straightforward: discharge fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two or three full cycles, BIOS health reporting aligns with the actual cell state.

Laptop shuts off abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell yet — it predicts remaining charge based on old cell behaviour, so the shown percentage and real voltage diverge. Under full CPU and display load, the cell hits its voltage floor before the OS expects it to, and the system cuts power to protect the battery. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate then full-charge cycles without interrupting power. After calibration, the gauge tracks real voltage and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GL30 battery indicator says 0% or "unknown" straight after fitting the new cell — is it dead?

The fuel gauge IC is still reading EEPROM data from the old cell, so it has no valid reference for the new one. Discharge fully until the laptop hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one complete cycle the IC recalibrates and the gauge reports an accurate figure. If it still shows unknown after two full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated.

My GL31 charges fine but the Wh rating shown in system info is wrong — it says something different from 48.84Wh.

The Wh figure displayed in Windows or Linux system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the cell, which stores the manufacturer's rated value at time of production. That number can differ from the actual chemistry capacity of a replacement cell. It does not affect how the battery charges or how much energy it delivers — it is a label discrepancy, not a fault. No action is needed; ignore the reported Wh figure and judge the battery by its real-world charge behaviour.

New EL80 battery won't charge above 80% — is the cell faulty?

This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Many Compal notebooks ship with a battery health mode enabled that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear over time. Check the power management settings in the BIOS or the manufacturer's utility — look for a "Battery Health Mode", "Charge Limit", or similar option and disable it. Once turned off, a full charge cycle should reach 100%.
