This is a 14.4V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 6600mAh (95.04Wh) for the Compal TS30I and TS30I3 notebook computers. It replaces OEM part numbers BAT-30IL, F1450-80002, F1450-80004, and F1450A. If your original cell has degraded or stopped holding charge, this cell slots directly into those models.

The TS30I BIOS reads EEPROM data written by the previous cell and compares it against the new cell's reported state. A fresh cell has no charge history, so the BIOS flags it as degraded. Run the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycle once, and the BIOS rewrites its health baseline against the new chemistry.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge remaining

This happens when the cell cannot hold voltage under combined CPU and display load — the voltage drops below the BMS protection threshold before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's actual discharge curve. Run two to three full calibration cycles: discharge fully to hibernate, then charge to 100% each time. After that, the OS fuel gauge recalibrates and the shutdown point drops back to near 0%.

The BIOS fuel gauge IC lost sync when the old cell was removed and has not yet mapped the new cell's charge curve. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. That single cycle re-establishes the EEPROM baseline the BIOS needs to report state-of-charge correctly. If it still reads 0% after one full cycle, repeat the process — most TS30I units resolve within two calibration cycles.

Windows shows the Compal battery's Wh rating as lower than the 95.04Wh listed on the cell — is the battery underspec?

The system reads the Wh value stored in the cell's EEPROM at the factory, which is sometimes set to the rated minimum rather than the actual chemistry capacity. The cell itself delivers the full 95.04Wh — the discrepancy is a stored value difference, not a capacity fault. You can confirm real capacity by running a full discharge cycle and checking the energy drawn against a USB power meter on the adapter. No firmware change is needed; the EEPROM figure does not affect how the cell charges or discharges.

The TS30I stops charging at 80% and will not go higher — is the replacement cell faulty?

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Many Compal notebooks ship with a battery care setting in the BIOS that caps charging at 80% to reduce cycle stress on the original cell. Check the BIOS under Power Management or Battery Care Mode and disable the charge limit or set the threshold to 100%. Once the BIOS limit is cleared, the cell will charge to its full 14.4V terminal voltage.
