Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Concept VR2020 / VR2100 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PNC423894511)
This is a 14.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion battery for the Concept VR2020, VR2100, VR2110, and VR3105 cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part number PNC423894511. Fit this when the original battery no longer holds charge or suction drops well before the indicator reaches low.
- VR2020 / VR2100 / VR2110 / VR3105 compatibility: These four models run the same 14.4V power rail and share an identical battery form factor and BMS handshake. One cell fits all four — no firmware or connector differences between them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the VR2020 motor under filter-restricted and clear-filter conditions. The BMS held the voltage rail steady during normal suction loads and tripped correctly on sustained overcurrent — no false cutoffs under standard use.
- Dock charging behaviour on these vacuums: The VR2020 series continues drawing a trickle current when left on the dock after a full charge. Remove the vacuum from the dock once the charge indicator shows full — leaving it docked permanently accelerates capacity fade on lithium cells.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This is a voltage sag problem, not a dead battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain airflow. That extra draw pulls the cell voltage down faster than the indicator expects, so suction fades while the display still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction restores immediately, the battery was not the cause. If sag continues on a clean filter, the cell has degraded and this replacement will resolve it.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and restarts after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip. It happens when sustained restricted airflow — a blocked filter or a tight carpet pile — forces the motor to draw above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts output to protect the cell, then resets after the load drops. If clearing the filter stops the cutouts, the original cell is functional but weak. If cutouts continue on a clean filter, the cell's internal resistance has climbed high enough that normal motor-start current is triggering the trip — replace the battery and verify voltage recovers above 14.0V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Concept VR2020 loses suction halfway through a clean but the battery indicator still shows half full — is the battery failing?
Not necessarily — this is voltage sag, and a blocked filter causes it more often than a failing battery. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw excess current, which drags cell voltage down faster than the indicator tracks. Clean the filter thoroughly and test again. If suction is still dropping on a clean filter, the cell has degraded and a replacement will restore consistent suction through the full charge cycle.
The vacuum keeps cutting out for a few seconds then restarting on its own — what's causing that?
That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent and resetting once the load drops. It usually happens when the motor is fighting a blocked filter or dense carpet pile and current spikes above the BMS threshold. Clear the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap — most cutout issues stop there. If the problem continues on a completely clear machine, the battery's internal resistance has risen high enough that normal motor-start current is triggering the trip, and the cell needs replacing.
I leave my Concept cordless vacuum on the dock all the time — could that have damaged the original battery?
Yes, continuous dock charging is the most common cause of capacity fade on this vacuum series. The dock keeps pushing a trickle current into the cell even after it reaches full charge, and lithium-ion cells degrade faster under sustained trickle load than from regular discharge cycles. With a new battery, charge to full and remove the vacuum from the dock — don't return it until the battery is depleted. That single change significantly slows capacity fade on replacement cells.
