Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CONTEC HMS7500 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (2.3.02.00200)
This 7.4V 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 2.3.02.00200 in the CONTEC HMS7500 portable patient monitor. The HMS7500 is a clinical and home healthcare device that measures SpO2, blood pressure, and heart rate. This replacement matches the original voltage, capacity, and connector configuration for the HMS7500 platform.
- HMS7500 platform fit: The HMS7500 uses a closed BMS handshake that validates cell voltage and internal resistance at startup. This battery meets those thresholds — the monitor completes its power-on self-test without triggering a battery fault flag.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the HMS7500's charge IC and monitored BMS communication. The battery accepted a full charge, held voltage under the device's combined sensor load, and passed the monitor's internal battery validation routine.
- Post-swap self-test procedure: After installing this battery, allow the HMS7500 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BMS runs a verification sequence at boot — cutting power mid-cycle writes a false battery fault to memory that persists until the next clean full reboot.
Why the HMS7500 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The HMS7500's BMS compares the new cell's internal resistance profile against stored OEM parameters at first boot. A fresh cell that hasn't completed one full charge-discharge cycle hasn't yet settled to its rated resistance values, so the BMS flags a low battery condition even when the cell is at full capacity. This is a calibration gap, not a defective battery. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before clinical use — the BMS recalibrates on the second boot and the alarm clears.
HMS7500 will not power on after battery arrived from storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during shipping and warehousing. If the cell voltage has dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell (5.0V pack total), the HMS7500's BMS enters deep-discharge lockout and the device shows no response — no boot screen, no alarm. Connect the monitor to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on. The charge IC applies a slow pre-charge trickle at low voltage to recover the cell, then resumes normal charging once the pack clears 6.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The HMS7500 keeps shutting off unexpectedly during a reading — could this be the new battery?
Yes, and it's expected in the first several cycles. The HMS7500's load profile spikes current draw during simultaneous SpO2 and NIBP measurement, which stresses a new cell harder than a conditioned one. New Li-ion cells have slightly elevated internal resistance before the first 8–10 full cycles, which causes momentary voltage sag that triggers the BMS undervoltage cutoff. Cycle the battery fully at least five times under normal device use before drawing any conclusions about cell performance.
The charge indicator on the HMS7500 never reaches 100% — it stops at around 90% and stays there.
The HMS7500 charge IC applies a conservative upper voltage limit on new cells during the first charge to protect against overcharge on an unconditioned pack. This is intentional behaviour — the charge IC raises its acceptance threshold after the first full cycle completes. Discharge the battery fully through normal device operation, then run a complete charge cycle from empty. On the second charge, the indicator will reach 100% and the charge IC will terminate at the correct 8.4V end-of-charge voltage.
The HMS7500 passed self-test but now shows a battery fault code mid-session — not at startup.
A mid-session fault code that doesn't appear at boot typically points to a BMS learn-cycle mismatch rather than a cell failure. The HMS7500 polls battery state-of-charge periodically during operation, and if the capacity curve from the new cell diverges from the stored model, it logs a fault at the next polling interval. Complete two full charge-discharge cycles so the BMS can build an accurate capacity map for this cell. After the second full cycle, confirm cell voltage reads between 8.2V and 8.4V at full charge before returning the device to clinical use.
