Coolpad 8297 / F1 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CPLD-329)

This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell replacing the original CPLD-329 and CPLD-352 batteries in Coolpad smartphones. It fits the 8297, 8297W, F1, and Dazen F1 Plus. Capacity is sourced from the product specification — 7.4Wh total energy.

• 8297 and F1 platform fit: The 8297, 8297W, F1, and Dazen F1 Plus share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all four devices without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the 8297 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without a protection trip, and the fuel gauge IC initialised correctly on the first cycle.
• Fuel gauge recalibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes load into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a fresh Coolpad 8297 cell

A new cell in an older 8297 body can still shut down abruptly at 20–30% reported charge. The fuel gauge IC retains the degradation curve of the original battery and treats the new cell's voltage floor as a cutoff point. Under modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops faster than the stale curve predicts, triggering an emergency shutdown. One full discharge-to-5%-then-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the actual capacity floor of the new cell.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after cell swap

After fitting a new cell, the Android battery percentage may jump erratically or read 100% immediately after a short charge. The fuel gauge IC stores learned capacity data tied to the old cell's internal resistance profile. The new cell has a different impedance signature, so the stored lookup table is wrong from cycle one. Drain the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces a full coulomb counter recalibration against the replacement cell's actual discharge curve.
