Replaces Creative NP-60 battery for DiVi CAM 428 digital camera.
3.7V, 1050mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity for photo and video capture.
Connector slides into camera battery slot with positive terminal facing outward; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in the DiVi CAM 428 body; BMS accepted the new pack after first charge cycle without authentication errors.
On initial use, run one full charge cycle through the camera body before extended shooting — the DiVi CAM 428 BMS maps battery percentage display to the discharge curve and requires this cycle to show accurate remaining charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Creative DiVi CAM 428 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-60)

This is a 3.7V 1050mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Creative DiVi CAM 428 compact digital camera. It uses the NP-60 form factor and slots directly into the camera's battery compartment. Voltage and physical dimensions match the original cell at 53.20 × 35.30 × 7.10mm.

  • NP-60 form factor compatibility: The DiVi CAM 428 uses the NP-60 cell format — a flat, slim Li-ion pack common to compact cameras of this size. The voltage rail sits at 3.7V nominal, which is what the camera's power circuit expects. No adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on NP-60 compatible equipment. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge without thermal event or early termination.
  • First-use charge cycle on the DiVi CAM 428: Run one full charge cycle inside the camera body or OEM-compatible charger before heavy shooting. Some compact camera BMS implementations need a charge cycle initiated from within the body before the battery-remaining indicator tracks accurately.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged replacement NP-60

The DiVi CAM 428's fuel gauge maps voltage thresholds to a percentage or icon display. A fresh replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve than a worn original, so the camera can misread remaining charge and throw a low-battery warning early. This is a calibration issue, not a faulty cell. Run the battery down fully, then charge it completely in one uninterrupted cycle. After one full cycle, the indicator typically stabilises and tracks correctly.

Camera body warm during extended video recording on a new cell

Sustained video on the DiVi CAM 428 draws current continuously from the sensor, processor, and display simultaneously — unlike still shooting, which spikes and pauses. This combined load raises cell temperature faster than normal still use. The NP-60's BMS will trigger a protective cutoff if internal temperature exceeds safe limits, which can look like a sudden power-off. If this happens, let the camera cool to room temperature, then resume. Avoid blocking ventilation slots on the camera body during video sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DiVi CAM 428 shows "no battery" or won't power on at all with the new NP-60 installed — what's wrong?

The camera's BMS authentication check can reject a new cell on first insert, especially if the battery shipped with a low storage charge. Insert the battery and charge it fully via the camera body or a compatible NP-60 charger before attempting to power on. One complete charge cycle is usually enough for the camera to accept the cell. After charging, the camera should power on and read the battery normally.

The battery percentage on the DiVi CAM 428 jumps around — it shows 80%, then drops to 20% within a few shots.

This is a voltage-threshold mapping issue. The camera's indicator was calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve, and a new cell can sit at a slightly different voltage at each capacity point. The percentage display jumps because the camera is recalculating against thresholds it hasn't yet mapped to this cell. Run two full charge-discharge cycles without interruption and the indicator will settle. After conditioning, the readings should track steadily down from full to empty.

Flash takes noticeably longer to recycle between shots compared to my old battery — is the new cell underpowered?

Slow flash recycle is a capacitor recharge issue, not a cell voltage problem. After the flash fires, the capacitor draws a sharp burst of current to recharge — if the cell's internal resistance is slightly higher (common in a brand-new cell that hasn't been cycled yet), that burst takes a fraction longer. Run three to four full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell and lower its effective internal resistance. After conditioning, recycle time should return to normal operating speed.
