Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Creative Zen Vision M 30GB — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LPCS285385)
This 3.7V, 2200mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Creative Zen Vision M 30GB, Zen Vision M 60GB, and DVP-HD0003 portable media players. It matches the OEM voltage rail and physical footprint at 81.60 × 45.00 × 4.60mm. If your Zen Vision M no longer holds a charge, this cell restores the unit to working condition.
- Zen Vision M 30GB, 60GB, and DVP-HD0003 fit: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the platform, so one cell covers the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Zen Vision M unit. The BMS accepted charge current cleanly, voltage held steady through video playback, and the protection circuit tripped at the correct low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Post-swap trickle charge requirement: If the player sat unused for months before the swap, the new cell may arrive below the device's minimum wake voltage. Connect the charger and leave it for 30 minutes before pressing power — the unit needs a slow trickle to exit deep-discharge protection before it will accept a normal charge current.
Battery percentage jumping after a cell swap on the Zen Vision M
The Zen Vision M tracks charge level using voltage thresholds stored from the previous cell. After installing a new battery, the firmware's calibration data no longer matches the new cell's discharge curve. This causes the indicator to jump — showing 80%, then dropping to 40%, then climbing again. Run two full charge-to-cutoff cycles and the indicator stabilises as the firmware maps the new cell's actual voltage curve.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator reads empty
The audio amplifier inside the Zen Vision M draws a short burst of higher current at the end of each track buffer refill. Near the bottom of the discharge curve, an aged or low-capacity cell cannot sustain the voltage through that burst, so the device shuts off even though the indicator still shows a small charge remaining. A fresh 2200mAh cell with a lower internal resistance handles those current spikes without the voltage sag. If cutouts persist after the swap, confirm the cell voltage reads above 3.5V under load before suspecting another cause.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Zen Vision M won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for two years — is the battery dead or is something else wrong?
Extended storage is the most common cause of this on the Zen Vision M. The original battery self-discharges below the device's minimum boot voltage over time, locking it in deep-discharge protection. Connect the charger and leave it plugged in for 30 minutes before pressing the power button — the protection circuit needs a slow trickle to recover before the device will respond. If the screen stays dark after 30 minutes of charging, check that the charger is delivering output at the port before assuming the battery is unrecoverable.
The battery percentage on my Zen Vision M jumps around wildly — it shows 60%, then drops to 15% in minutes, then climbs back up.
This is a calibration mismatch between the firmware's stored voltage thresholds and the actual discharge curve of the new cell. The Zen Vision M built its charge map around the original battery's behaviour, and a replacement cell discharges differently enough to confuse the indicator. Run two complete cycles — charge to full, play until the unit shuts off from low voltage, then charge to full again. After two cycles, the firmware remaps its thresholds to the new cell and the percentage readings settle.
My Zen Vision M cuts out during video playback even though the battery still shows charge remaining — what's happening?
The video decoder and audio amplifier together pull a higher current burst than music playback alone. Near the bottom of the discharge curve, a worn cell's internal resistance causes the voltage to sag below the shutdown threshold during those bursts, even if the indicator hasn't hit zero. A replacement cell at full capacity handles the combined draw without dropping voltage. After fitting the new battery, confirm it reads at least 3.6V resting before playback to rule out a shipping deep-discharge as the remaining cause.
