Fits Cricket EC1002 and Ovation 2 phones; replaces OEM part number HE399.
3.85V and 3100mAh capacity sustains calling, messaging, and app use on this smartphone.
Connector slides into the standard battery slot with a single locking tab underneath.
We bench-tested the HE399 cell in an EC1002 — BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held stable voltage under full-screen load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cricket EC1002 / Ovation 2 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HE399)

This is a 3.85V, 3100mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Cricket EC1002 and Ovation 2 smartphones. It replaces OEM part number HE399. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or swells enough to lift the back cover.

  • EC1002 and Ovation 2 fitment: Both devices share the same battery bay dimensions (85 × 63 × 4mm), the same 3.85V nominal voltage rail, and the same HE399 connector and BMS handshake — one cell covers both models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on the EC1002 platform. The BMS accepted the USB charge handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold during deep-discharge stress testing.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first day.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the EC1002 after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The chip reads 25% state-of-charge, but the new cell's actual voltage under modem or display load drops below the system shutdown threshold before the gauge catches up. The fix is one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled — this forces the coulomb counter to re-anchor against the new cell's actual capacity. After that cycle, the gauge tracks correctly and the early shutdowns stop.

Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement

A new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell converts more energy to heat early in its life because its internal resistance is slightly higher than a broken-in cell. The charge IC compensates by adjusting current, but that process generates warmth at the battery contact area for the first two or three full cycles. This is normal and not a sign of a fault — surface temperature should stay below 40°C. If the phone feels hot rather than warm, or if it is hot on the back near the top edge where the charge IC sits, stop charging and check the USB cable and adapter output voltage with a USB meter.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cricket EC1002 shows 30% battery and then just turns off without warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell itself is almost always fine. The fuel gauge IC on the EC1002 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell, so its state-of-charge reading becomes unreliable under the voltage sag caused by modem radio and screen load. Run one full discharge — let the phone die completely — then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging turned off. After that single cycle the coulomb counter re-anchors to the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I put the new HE399 battery in — it only slow charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the EC1002's charge controller sometimes refuses to negotiate fast-charge current because the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed its initialisation handshake with the phone's power management IC. Let the phone complete one full charge at standard speed. On the second charge, fast charging should resume. If it does not, check whether your charger outputs at least 5V/2A — the Ovation 2 and EC1002 require that minimum to enter fast-charge mode.

The battery percentage on my EC1002 keeps jumping — it was at 60%, then jumped to 45%, then back to 55% in ten minutes.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration symptom, not a defective cell. The coulomb counter accumulated errors tracking the old degraded cell and is now trying to correct itself against the new cell's different discharge profile. Perform one uninterrupted full cycle: drain the phone until it shuts off on its own, then charge straight to 100% without unplugging. The gauge resets its reference points during that cycle and the percentage stabilises to within 2–3% accuracy.
