Fits Cricket Splendor, Icon 3 smartphones; replaces OEM part number HE401.
3.85V, 3600mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 13.86Wh — sustains the modem and display load across a full day.
Connector seats into the battery slot with no locking tab; polarity marked on the cell and device housing.
We bench-tested this cell in a Splendor unit; the BMS accepted the new pack on first charge cycle without fault signals.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cricket Splendor / Icon 3 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HE401)

This is a 3.85V, 3600mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Cricket Splendor, Icon 3, EC211002, and EC211003 smartphones. Part number HE401 matches the original cell footprint at 79.00 × 61.60 × 4.10mm. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge across a normal day of calls and screen time.

  • Splendor / Icon 3 platform compatibility: The EC211002 and EC211003 share the same mainboard voltage rail and connector pinout as the branded Splendor and Icon 3 variants. One cell services all four models without any adapter or wiring change.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the EC211002 mainboard. The BMS accepted the charge handshake cleanly, protection thresholds tripped correctly at both ends of the voltage window, and no thermal anomalies appeared during constant-current phase.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before fast-charge current is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cricket Splendor after a cell swap

A new cell has a discharge curve the fuel gauge IC has never seen. The IC is still referencing the old cell's voltage-to-capacity map, so it misreads remaining charge. Under load from the modem or display, the actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS percentage reaches zero. The phone shuts off mid-use at what looks like 25% remaining. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge resets the coulomb counter against the new cell curve and clears this behaviour.

Phone will not power on after the HE401 has been sitting discharged in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. Plugging in the charger may show no response at all — no charging indicator, no boot. Connect the phone to a wall adapter and leave it undisturbed for 15–20 minutes. The charge IC will trickle-feed current below normal charge rate until the cell climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Cricket Splendor shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new HE401 — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the Splendor's mainboard is calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell, and a fresh HE401 has a different curve. The IC misreads state of charge until it builds a new reference map. Run one full discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate with fast charging off, and the percentage will read accurately.

Fast charging stopped working on my Splendor after I replaced the battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes defaults to standard rate because it has not yet confirmed the new BMS will accept high-current input safely. This is normal behaviour. Complete one full charge at the slow rate without interrupting it. On the next charge session, plug in and fast charging should re-engage once the IC has logged a clean first cycle against the new cell.

The phone feels warm near the battery area while charging the new HE401 — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the constant-current charge phase is expected on a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, which generates a small amount of heat as current pushes through. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charger cuts out repeatedly, remove it and check that the connector is seated flat with no bent pins. Normal break-in warmth drops off after the first two or three full charge cycles.
