Fits Datalogic Skorpio X3 and X4 handheld scanners, replacing OEM part numbers BT-0016, 94ACC0046, 94ACC0048, and BT-0015.
3.7V 6800mAh Li-ion cell delivers 25.16Wh — enough capacity for full-shift scanning and wireless polling in retail and logistics environments.
Connector type matches original pack with flat terminal contacts and locking tab on the housing — seats straight into the scanner grip without forcing.
We bench-tested the BMS across full discharge cycles; the protection circuit held steady through rapid scan trigger spikes and wireless transmission bursts typical of pick-and-pack operations.
After installing the pack, place the scanner in its cradle for a complete charge cycle before field use — the scan trigger draws highest inrush current at minimum voltage and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS cutoff on first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic Skorpio X3 / X4 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BT-0016)

This 3.7V 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part numbers BT-0016, BT-0015, 94ACC0046, and 94ACC0048 in the Datalogic Skorpio X3 and Skorpio X4 handheld terminals. Both models run on the same 3.7V cell platform with a shared connector and BMS handshake, so one pack covers both. At 25.16Wh, this sits at the same energy capacity as the original Datalogic cells.

  • Skorpio X3 and X4 shared platform: Both terminals use the same 3.7V battery bay, identical 4-pin connector, and the same BMS communication protocol — voltage rail and charge profile are identical across the two models, so no firmware difference affects pack recognition.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Skorpio X3 and confirmed the BMS handshake initialised cleanly on dock insertion. Charge acceptance tracked within normal parameters and the protection circuit held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold without tripping under scan-burst load.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack environments: After installing, seat the scanner in its charging cradle for a full cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents a false BMS trip the first time an operator hammers the trigger on a fast conveyor line.

Cradle showing charging error after fitting a new pack

Skorpio charging cradles communicate with the pack over the contact pins — if any pin has oxidation or debris, the dock reads an abnormal resistance and flags a charge fault. This is not a pack failure; it is a contact issue. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle slot with a dry cloth, then reseat the terminal firmly until it clicks. If the error clears, the circuit is intact and charging will proceed normally.

Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The Skorpio X3 draws from the battery simultaneously for the imager, the scan trigger circuit, and the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio. During rapid scanning, the combined inrush of the trigger and an active radio transmission can cause a momentary voltage sag below the radio module's minimum operating threshold. The radio drops its association to recover, and operators see the connection icon disappear mid-session. Ensuring the pack is above 3.5V before a high-intensity scan session reduces the frequency of these sags.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Skorpio X3 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the imager fires but nothing decodes. What's wrong?

The imager and decode processor need the cell above a minimum voltage threshold before the decode engine runs cleanly — if the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the laser or imager may fire at reduced power and fail to decode even simple codes. Seat the terminal in the cradle and charge to full before the first scan. We confirmed on the bench that decode function restored immediately once the pack reached its nominal voltage.

The scanner feels noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous use — is that a battery problem?

Sustained scanning plus an active wireless radio in the Skorpio's enclosed housing generates heat from both the pack and the processor simultaneously. A healthy Li-ion cell does warm slightly under continuous draw, but if the housing is hot enough to cause discomfort, check that the scanner isn't running a legacy radio polling interval that keeps the radio transmitting between scans. Reduce polling frequency in the device configuration or schedule short cradle rests during the shift to let the housing dissipate heat.

Our previous battery lasted a full shift, but this new one seems to drain faster after only two weeks of use — what's happening?

Li-ion cells form a stable charge capacity over the first several full cycles — a pack that hasn't completed three to five full charge and discharge cycles will show lower usable capacity than it will once conditioned. Check the cradle isn't topping up the pack every time it's docked for under 10 minutes; repeated shallow cycles slow the conditioning process. Run three full discharges to the low-battery warning followed by a full cradle charge, then reassess shift endurance.
