Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Alienware M15X — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SQU-722)

This is a 10.8V, 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Dell Alienware M15X gaming laptop and Alienware P08G. It replaces OEM part numbers SQU-722, SQU-724, 312-0207, D951T, F681T, and related Dell cross-references. Slot it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the system refuses to leave the charger.

  • M15X and P08G compatibility: These two platforms share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The same cell works across M15X6CPRIBABLK and M15X9CEXBATBLK configurations because Dell kept the power rail and communication bus identical across those SKUs.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the M15X platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the Dell EC, charge current tapered as expected near capacity, and the cell hit rated voltage without thermal events.
  • BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff on battery only — no charger — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Why the M15X shuts down at 20–30% charge remaining

The M15X pulls hard when the GPU and CPU are both under load. At that draw, a degraded or uncalibrated cell hits a voltage cliff — the terminal voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts. The system interprets this as an unsafe condition and cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. This is not a fault in the replacement cell itself. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle after installation and the fuel gauge IC re-anchors its model to the new cell's actual discharge curve.

BIOS reports battery health as "poor" or "replace" after a new cell is fitted

The Dell EC reads health data from EEPROM registers inside the battery pack, not from live cell voltage alone. When a new cell is installed, those registers start without the charge history the BIOS expects to see, which triggers a false health warning. This is not a sign the replacement cell is faulty. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that cycle the EC rewrites its health baseline and the warning clears.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alienware M15X fuel gauge jumps around wildly — shows 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes. Is the new battery faulty?

The fuel gauge IC on the M15X needs several complete charge and discharge cycles to calibrate against the new cell's chemistry. Until it has that data, the state-of-charge estimate is based on stale EEPROM values from the old pack, which causes erratic readings. The cell itself is not faulty. Run three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles with uninterrupted charges to 100% between each, and the gauge will stabilise.

The system information panel shows the wrong Wh rating — it's reporting a different capacity than the battery I just installed. What's going on?

The Wh figure displayed in Dell system info is pulled from a static EEPROM register inside the pack, not calculated live from the cell. If the register value was written to match a different OEM configuration, the displayed number will not match the physical 47.52Wh rating of this cell. This is a data reporting difference, not a capacity difference — the cell delivers its full rated energy regardless of what the EEPROM register says. No action is needed unless the EC is also refusing to charge, in which case confirm the Dell EC firmware is current.

New battery installed but the M15X won't charge above 80% — charger is connected and the LED shows charging, but it just stops.

Dell laptops running certain BIOS versions ship with a charge limit set to 80% to reduce cell stress during long AC-connected use. This is a BIOS-controlled firmware setting, not a fault in the replacement cell. Go into the Dell Power Manager application or BIOS power settings, find the battery charge mode, and switch it from "Primarily AC" or "Custom" to "Standard" or "Express Charge" to allow charging to 100%.
