Fits Dell Latitude CS and CSX notebooks; replaces OEM battery part numbers 7012P, 8012P, BAT-LCS, IM-M150260, IM-M150260-GB.
11.1V 3600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 39.96Wh output for full workday operation on these legacy business laptops.
Battery slides into the underside slot with a single locking tab; connector orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in a Latitude CS and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault codes or voltage drift across 10 cycles.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Latitude CS / CSX — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (7012P / 8012P)

This is an 11.1V, 3600mAh (39.96Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Dell Latitude CS and Latitude CSX notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers 7012P, 8012P, BAT-LCS, IM-M150260, and IM-M150260-GB. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the system refuses to run on battery at all.

  • Latitude CS and CSX compatibility: Both the CS and CSX share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 11.1V nominal rail. The BMS in this pack communicates over the same SMBus protocol the original Dell controller expects, so the system registers it without driver changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and full-load discharge on a Latitude CS unit. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly at the low end and accepted a full charge without tripping the overcurrent protection on the host controller.
  • Post-install discharge cycle on the Latitude CS: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell data and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor after replacing the cell on the Latitude CS

The Latitude CS BIOS reads health data from EEPROM embedded in the battery pack, not from live cell measurements. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data does not match the history the BIOS expects, so it flags the battery as degraded immediately. This is a firmware-side artefact, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted full charge resets the learn cycle and clears the warning.

Latitude CS shutting down at 20–30% remaining shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual charge curve. The percentage shown is based on stale data from the previous degraded cell, so the BIOS cuts power when the real cell voltage drops below the safety threshold — even though the gauge still reads 20–30%. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles without interruption. After the second cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the displayed percentage will track actual remaining capacity accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Latitude CS BIOS says the new battery is in "poor" condition straight out of the box — is the cell faulty?

It is not a faulty cell. The Latitude CS BIOS reads health history from the pack's EEPROM, and a fresh replacement has no history that matches what the firmware expects, so it flags poor health immediately. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle. After that cycle completes, the warning clears.

System info shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it does not match the 39.96Wh spec on the listing.

The Wh figure displayed in Dell system info is pulled from static EEPROM data written to the pack at the factory, and it may differ from the actual chemistry rating of the replacement cell. This is a read-out discrepancy, not a capacity problem. The cell itself delivers 39.96Wh under load. Confirm this by running a full discharge cycle and checking that the system reaches hibernate at the expected low-voltage cutoff rather than dropping out early.

Replacement battery stops charging at around 80% and will not go higher — charger is working fine.

On the Latitude CS platform, the BIOS can impose a charge ceiling based on battery learn-cycle data from the previous cell. If the learn cycle was never reset after the swap, the firmware caps charging before the cell is full. Discharge fully to hibernate cutoff and then charge uninterrupted in one session. This forces the BIOS to re-run the learn cycle against the new cell, which removes the artificial ceiling and allows the pack to charge to 100%.
