Fits Dell Precision M3800 and XPS 15 series laptops, replaces TOTRM, H76MV, Y758W, and 16 other OEM part numbers.
11.1V 5400mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 59.94Wh — matches original output for full workstation runtime under CPU and GPU load.
Connector slides straight into the battery bay with a single locking tab on the right side; no force required on insertion or removal.
We bench-tested this cell at full discharge into a Precision M3800 chassis — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and ramped charge current normally with no cutoff faults.
After installation, discharge the laptop fully to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Precision M3800 / XPS 15 9530 — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TOTRM)

This is an 11.1V 5400mAh (59.94Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Dell Precision M3800 and XPS 15 9530. It also fits the XPS 15D-9728T, XPS 15D-2828, and related models. OEM part numbers covered include TOTRM, H76MV, T0TRM, 7D1WJ, Y758W, and 451-BBEK.

  • Precision M3800 and XPS 15 9530 platform: Both machines share the same 11.1V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits both because Dell used the same battery management architecture across this mobile workstation and consumer ultrabook chassis generation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Precision M3800. The BMS communicated correctly with the Dell EC, reported accurate state-of-charge, and held voltage through sustained CPU and GPU load without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-use calibration on Dell hardware: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after any cell swap on Dell systems.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell

Dell's BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, which carries charge cycle count and capacity history from the previous cell. A brand-new replacement will sometimes show degraded health on first boot because the EEPROM data hasn't been reset against the new chemistry. This is a firmware reporting issue, not a fault in the cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS battery learn cycle will re-baseline its health calculation against the actual new cell capacity.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. During heavy CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated gauge expects, and the system hits the low-voltage protection cutoff while the OS still shows 20–30% remaining. It's not a defective cell — it's a calibration lag. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate then full-charge cycles without interruption, and the gauge will align to the actual voltage floor of the new cell, which sits at approximately 9.0V under full load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dell BIOS still shows "consider replacing your battery" after I just installed a new one — is the cell actually bad?

The BIOS pulls health data from the battery's EEPROM, which retains cycle count and wear history from the old cell. A brand-new cell will often trigger this warning on first boot because the learn cycle hasn't run yet. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the BIOS recalibrates and the warning clears.

My XPS 15 9530 shows a completely different Wh rating in system info than what the battery is listed as — why doesn't it match?

The Wh figure displayed in Dell's system information is read from the EEPROM's rated design capacity field, which may differ from the actual delivered capacity of the replacement cell chemistry. This is a data reporting difference between EEPROM stored values and real-world cell specs — it does not affect charge behaviour or system operation. Check the physical charge level instead of the Wh figure for the first few cycles while the fuel gauge IC calibrates to the new cell.

The new battery charges, but the charge stops at 80% and never goes higher — what's blocking it?

Dell's BIOS includes a configurable charge limit — commonly set to 80% by default in the Dell Power Manager application to reduce long-term cell wear during AC-connected use. This is a firmware setting, not a fault with the cell. Open Dell Power Manager, go to Battery Settings, and switch the charge mode from "Primarily AC" or "Custom" to "Adaptive" or "Standard" — charge will then proceed to 100%.
