Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Vostro V13 / V130 Series — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (T1G6P)
This is an 11.1V, 2700mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Dell Vostro V13, V130, V13Z, and V1300 ultraportable notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers T1G6P, 0449TX, PRW6G, 312-8479, ONTG4J, and CN-0449TX. At 29.97Wh and 5.33mm thin, it fits the slim chassis without modification.
- Vostro V13 family compatibility: The V13, V130, V13Z, and V1300 all share the same 11.1V battery rail, flat Li-Polymer form factor, and connector pinout. Dell used multiple OEM part numbers across production runs, but the electrical spec and physical fitment are identical across all four models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Vostro V130. The BMS communicated correctly with the Dell EC, charge current tapered normally at top-of-charge, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at low-cell-voltage cutoff.
- BIOS learn cycle after installation: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells in Dell notebooks.
Why the Vostro V13 shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
The Vostro V13 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model against the original cell's internal resistance profile. A new cell has different resistance, so the gauge miscalculates the voltage cliff — the point where cell voltage drops sharply under combined CPU and display load. The system reads this drop as critically low and forces shutdown even though charge remains. Running two or three full discharge-to-hibernate then full-charge cycles allows the fuel gauge IC to re-map the new cell's profile and eliminates the premature shutdown.
BIOS reporting 0% or "unknown battery" immediately after fitting
The Dell BIOS reads battery identity and state-of-health from EEPROM data embedded in the battery's BMS chip. When a replacement cell is first connected, the BIOS has not yet validated that EEPROM data and may report 0% or flag the battery as unknown. This is not a fault with the cell. Power the laptop off completely, reseat the battery connector firmly, then boot and allow the system to sit at the desktop for five minutes while the EC polls the BMS. If the warning persists after one full charge cycle, check that the connector is fully engaged — even one pin out of contact causes this on the V13's slim board layout.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Dell Vostro V130 fuel gauge jumps around wildly — showing 60%, then 85%, then 40% within minutes. Is the replacement battery faulty?
The fuel gauge IC on the Vostro V130 calibrates its charge model against the resistance curve of whichever cell was last cycled in the system. A brand-new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC's estimates are unreliable until it re-learns the curve. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100% each time. After the second full cycle, the gauge readings stabilise.
Windows shows this replacement battery's Wh rating as 24Wh, but the spec says 29.97Wh — why does the number reported in Device Manager look wrong?
The Wh figure Windows reads comes from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated design capacity the BMS was programmed with at manufacture. That rated value can differ slightly from the actual chemistry capacity — 29.97Wh is the measured capacity of this cell, while the EEPROM-stored design capacity may reflect the OEM's conservative rating. This discrepancy does not affect charge behaviour or available capacity. The cell delivers its full 2700mAh regardless of what the EEPROM figure reports in Device Manager.
The new battery charges to 80% and then stops — the charge light goes off and the percentage never climbs higher. How do I fix this?
Dell's BIOS on several Vostro models includes a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear during extended mains use. This is controlled in the BIOS, not by the battery itself. Boot into the BIOS setup (F2 at POST), navigate to Power Management, and check for a "Primary Battery Charge Configuration" option — set it to "Adaptive" or "Standard" rather than "Custom" or "Express Charge" if it has been set to a capped mode. Once changed, the cell will charge to 100%.
