Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung NP470 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AA-PBVN3AB)
This is a 10.8V Li-ion cell rated at 3950mAh (42.66Wh), direct replacement for the AA-PBVN3AB / BA43-00358A OEM battery. It fits the NP470, NP470R5E, NP500R5H-Y09, NP510RSE, and over 120 additional Samsung notebook variants that share this battery form factor. Same voltage rail, same connector, same BMS handshake as the original cell.
- NP470 series compatibility: These models share the AA-PBVN3AB platform because Samsung used the same 10.8V three-cell Li-ion pack and SMBus-compatible BMS across the NP470 and NP500 lines. The connector pinout and charge controller handshake are identical across the full range, so one cell fits all listed variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an NP470R5E under combined CPU and display load. The BMS held the charge curve cleanly through multiple cycles, with no false cutoffs and stable voltage delivery across the full discharge range.
- First-cycle calibration on the NP470: After installing, run one full discharge down to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in Samsung's power manager after a cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement
Samsung notebooks store battery health data in EEPROM on the original pack. When a new cell is installed, the BIOS reads residual data from the old pack's last state and flags it as degraded — even though the cell is fresh. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. Running a complete discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted full charge forces the BIOS to rewrite the learn-cycle data against the new cell's actual characteristics. After one or two full cycles, the health indicator returns to normal.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's chemistry. The IC is still using discharge curves mapped to the old, worn cell, so it misreads remaining capacity and triggers shutdown before the battery is actually depleted. The fix is calibration: discharge fully to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption — repeat this two or three times. After calibration, the gauge tracks accurately and the early shutdown stops.

Frequently Asked Questions
Samsung battery manager shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% right after I installed it — is the battery dead?
No — this is an EEPROM mismatch. The BIOS is still reading identity data from the old pack and cannot yet recognise the new cell. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates automatically, then charge to 100% without interrupting. One full learn cycle is usually enough for the BIOS to register the new cell correctly and clear the unknown status.
The Wh rating shown in Windows battery report doesn't match the 42.66Wh spec — should I be concerned?
The figure Windows reports pulls from the EEPROM-stored design capacity on the cell, which can differ slightly from the rated chemistry value until the BIOS completes a learn cycle. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted charge to 100%. After the learn cycle, the reported Wh figure will align with the cell's actual rated capacity of 42.66Wh.
New battery stopped charging at 80% and won't go higher — is this a faulty cell?
Almost certainly not a battery fault. Samsung's BIOS includes a charge-limit feature that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress — it ships enabled on many NP-series models. Open Samsung Settings (or Samsung Battery Manager if installed), navigate to the battery section, and switch from "Custom" or "Maximum battery life" mode to "Maximum capacity" mode. The charge ceiling will lift to 100%.
