Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell XPS 13 9343 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CN-0N7T6)

This 7.4V, 7300mAh (54.02Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Dell XPS 13 9343 ultrabook. It fits the 9343 chassis across all trim levels, including the XPS9343-1818SLV and XPS 13-9343 variants. OEM part numbers CN-0N7T6, JD25G, 90V7W, 5K9CP, and RWT1R all cross to this unit.

  • XPS 13 9343 platform fit: Every 9343 variant uses the same 7.4V two-cell Li-Polymer pack with a unified connector and BMS handshake. The charge controller on this board talks to the cell EEPROM — swap the cell, and the BIOS reads the new pack's stored data on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a 9343 board and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without fault codes. Charge current ramped correctly through CC and CV phases, and the board reported full capacity within two calibration cycles.
  • Post-install calibration on the 9343: After fitting, discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without powering on mid-cycle. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement

The XPS 13 9343 BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and flags any new pack as degraded until it completes a learn cycle. This is a firmware behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge to hibernate, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After one or two cycles the BIOS recalibrates against the new cell and the health warning clears.

Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. Under full CPU and display load the 9343 draws enough current to expose a voltage cliff the gauge did not anticipate — the board shuts down to protect the cell even though the reported percentage looks safe. The fix is a proper calibration cycle: discharge to hibernate cutoff, charge straight to 100%, repeat twice. After two full cycles the gauge IC maps the new cell's actual discharge curve and the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dell XPS 13 9343 showing the wrong Wh rating in system info after I swapped the battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Wh figure shown in Dell's system info pulls from the EEPROM data written to the pack at the factory, and the rated value stored there can differ slightly from the actual chemistry capacity in the replacement cell. The number updates once the BIOS completes a full learn cycle — discharge to hibernate, charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the reported Wh will align with the installed cell's actual spec.

My XPS 13 9343 fuel gauge is jumping around wildly — shows 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of unplugging.

The fuel gauge IC on the 9343 board calibrates itself against the discharge curve of the installed cell. A brand-new cell has a different curve than the worn-out one it replaced, so the gauge reads erratically until it maps the new curve. Run two complete cycles — discharge fully to hibernate cutoff each time, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After the second cycle the gauge stabilises and tracks accurately.

New battery on my XPS 13 9343 stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. Dell's BIOS includes a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress — it ships enabled on some units and can be toggled by a previous owner. Open the Dell Power Manager app, go to Battery Settings, and switch the charge mode from "Primarily AC" or "Custom" to "Adaptive" or "Standard." The battery will then charge to 100%.
