Fits Deviser DS2500S surveying instrument, replaces OEM part B203G001.
7.4V 7800mAh lithium-ion pack delivers sustained output for field measurements without voltage sag during sensor initialization.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab seats flush against the instrument housing.
We ran full measurement cycles on the DS2500S test unit; BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes or resets.
Run a complete calibration cycle through the instrument menu immediately after installation — the DS2500S maps battery state during calibration and skips this step cause premature low-battery warnings on first field session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Deviser DS2500S — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B203G001)

This is a 7.4V 7800mAh (57.72Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Deviser DS2500S surveying instrument. It replaces OEM part B203G001 and restores full operating power to the DS2500S in the field. The cell chemistry and BMS protection profile match the original pack's voltage rails and charge termination behaviour.

  • DS2500S platform compatibility: The DS2500S uses a fixed connector and BMS handshake tied to the B203G001 spec. This pack runs the same 7.4V nominal rail and matches the charge termination voltage the instrument expects. Swapping in a pack with different cutoff thresholds causes the instrument to flag a battery fault or refuse to power on.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the DS2500S power-on sequence, probe initialisation draw, and a sustained logging load. The BMS held stable through the initialisation current spike and did not trip under continuous sensor load at the rated voltage.
  • First-use calibration cycle: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the DS2500S instrument menu before heading into the field. The instrument maps battery state during calibration. Skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during the first measurement session even when the pack is fully charged.

BMS trip at probe or sensor initialisation on the DS2500S

When the DS2500S powers up a connected probe or sensor module, the initialisation sequence draws a short but sharp current spike. If the battery BMS has a low overcurrent threshold — common in aged or counterfeit packs — it trips at that spike and the instrument cuts out instantly. The B203G001 spec sets the overcurrent threshold above the probe initialisation peak, so the BMS stays latched through startup. If the instrument cuts out specifically at probe power-up, check the battery voltage first — a cell below 6.8V will trigger this even on a healthy BMS.

DS2500S shuts down mid-logging session with no low-battery warning

This happens when sustained sensor load pulls the pack voltage below the instrument's undervoltage cutoff before the battery indicator has updated. The display may still show two or three bars when the shutdown occurs. It is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue — a degraded cell with high internal resistance drops voltage under load even if it reads fine at rest. To confirm, check the resting voltage with a multimeter after a shutdown; a healthy cell should read above 7.0V at rest. If the resting voltage is above 7.0V but the instrument still cuts out under load, the pack's internal resistance has risen past the point where it can sustain the DS2500S sensor current draw.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DS2500S won't recognise the new battery after it sat unused for several months — the screen stays blank even though the pack is charged.

A battery left unused for months can drop below the BMS recovery threshold, putting the protection circuit into sleep mode. In this state the pack reads near-zero voltage at the terminals even if the cells hold a partial charge. Connect the pack to the DS2500S charger for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on the instrument — most chargers send a trickle current that wakes the BMS above its recovery voltage of approximately 6.0V. If the charger light does not respond within 30 minutes, the cells have likely self-discharged past recovery.

The DS2500S powers on and runs measurements fine, but it shuts off the moment I start a USB data transfer to a PC.

USB data transfer on the DS2500S adds a second current draw on top of the active sensor load — the combined draw can push total current above what a degraded or low-state pack can sustain without voltage sag. The BMS sees the sag as an undervoltage event and cuts the output. Charge the pack fully before any transfer session and check that the resting voltage reads at least 8.2V before connecting the USB cable. If shutdowns persist on a fully charged pack, the cells have degraded and the internal resistance is too high to handle the combined draw.

Measurement readings on the DS2500S drift or reset mid-session without any battery warning on screen.

Readings drifting or resetting mid-session is a voltage dropout event, not a display or sensor fault. Under sustained sensor load, a cell with elevated internal resistance sags below the minimum stable voltage the DS2500S processor needs, causing it to briefly reset the active measurement. The battery indicator may not show a warning because the voltage recovers the moment load drops. Measure the pack voltage under load by watching the instrument's diagnostic screen during an active measurement cycle — if voltage dips below 6.8V during logging, the pack can no longer sustain the DS2500S sensor current and needs replacement.
